I'm about 50/50 on going tomorrow, if I do I'm just gonna hit 8a and see how it is. If I'm out there I'll give you a shout on 66, good luck.

I know the store well, but I always get frozen. Never dawned on me to ask for live bait. I believe their name is Sunrise and it's right on the old boat ramp. Web site says they have live bait when in season. Give 'em a shout.

Also Waters Edge but they didn't have a website. It's closer to Jetti Park...

I don't think that waters edge has live bait. I've only noticed frozen bait while in there.

Good luck tomorrow. If I didn't have plans I'd be out too. Not many 1-2 days this time of year.

Sorry for the late post, just got back inside from washing the girl down. It's a long haul from Cape Canaveral to west side of Orlando at 5pm on a weeknight. I'm use to Saturday or Sunday traffic, not full blown rush hour.

We started at 8A and nothing was stirring. No signs of life. Seas were good at 7am and was able to run about 30mph out there. Trolled for about an hour and gave up, lines in. Headed dead east to deeper water.

Still no signs of life, weeds, or bait. Lines out at 230 and wham, a reel line taker (did you see what i did there). Don't know what happen but she was skinnin' the reel and then nothing. Got the hook in and what ever hit, bent the hook then broke it. Seriously day'um!

Ran to 250', came back to 230' and a monster sailfish I tell ya. We had the father inlaw on the reel (first time out ever) and that fish was dancing across the water!!! Beautiful! Huge I tell ya! Had her on for about 2-3 minutes and phooyie, she spat that hook! UGH!!!!

Stayed between 200'-230' and had three (3) more sails. Never got one in the boat, but man it was fun. Landed a barracuda and got some pics.

Hail Yea has some video and I think he got the sail in action. I'll try to get it tomorrow. The seas really laid down around 11am, picked back up, and then around 2 laid back down. Ran 40 mph back in, smooth!!

Good luck guys! Till next time!

Celle thanks for the tips! Hail Yea can't wait for next trip!!

Sounds like fun, thx for the repot. And yes, crossing O-town at time of day would SUCK with a boat.

Thanks for the report Lyman24. Sounds like a fun trip.

I was on your side of town last night. Ate dinner at The Chef's Table in Winter Garden.

Nice report, sounds like you guys had a good day. I got a really late start to the day, didn't hit the dock till 10a. I headed straight out to 8a, this trip was solely to run the engine and put kings in the boat for the smoker. 8a must've turned on a bit later because there were about 30 commercial king boats and everyone was catching. I put the first line out, and am getting the second ready when the first takes off, 20lb king. Five minutes later I have another 15lb or so, perfect sizes for the smoker. Caught on manns stretch 30 one red head, and one blue. It wouldn't have mattered today, you could've caught them on a banana. Caught one more for the fun off it, and called it for kings. Ran into a poorly formed weed line just NE of 8a and played with about 20 small triple tail, a few smaller size keepers in the school but I only hooked the undersize ones. Headed in and at about 55 feet, my fish finder lights up. It was a massive school of sand/sugar trout. I break out the bigger size Sabiki and end up keeping five of those, but I could've kept 100, they were feeding like crazy. The five I kept were 14 to 15". Pretty good day and I was off the water and back home just after 1p. Sorry I didn't get ahold of you guys on the radio, this was a last second trip for me and I didn't see the pm till just now. I don't have a handle but Texas will work for next time. On a side note, there were a lot of boats working the cans midday, and I heard limits were all caught off the radio, I'm assuming it was all triple tail.
Gonna try to post a pic in a bit, I can't figure out how to do this on off my I phone.

Let me know when you are around, can get together for a beer. I live about 15 minutes south of Winter Garden. Currently we are just started the process of building a home about 2 miles out side the village on the trail. Still in design mode.

I was thinking of hitting a few wrecks for cobia, whisk I had now, 16 cobia is a slaughter. I think after this cold front a lot of them will finally be gone.

Can't thank Lyman enough for the trip. Had a great day on the water with some great people. That Everglades boat is very nicely laid out and I was impressed the way it handled the seas. Cant wait to get back out there again.

Went out this morning and put lines in at 140. 18# Dolphin on within a few minutes and we thought it would be a stellar day...

Trolled around that area for a bit with nothing more to show. Went out to 180 and got a bonita. Worked out to 220 and a sail worked it's way through the spread. We finally got one dropped back for it. We hooked up and the sail put on a good show before spitting the hook. Wind started to pick up and we ran in. Beats work...

Man, didn't know there were so many people on here from Winter Garden. Thanks for the reports guys. I might have to go out of Canaveral more often.
