Any report guys. I stayed on dry land- felt the super moon would make trolling tough to catch mahi.

Default Saturday

We trolled for a couple of hours Saturday and caught 1 good king in about 110 ft of water and then bottom fished and caught snapper after snapper for a couple of hours and called it a day.

Where the snappers the hard to find red snappers or other snappers, and how deep was the snappers at.

Maybe someone can tell me this, who has been catching groupers out of canaveral and how deep,I have not caught one out of there in years but caught one out of sebastian the last time I fished out of there a few years ago and I know they are in the river system here.

Also who is going to try and go out this weekend for the red snappers and do you think they will be out deep or in more with the cold front coming in this weekend.

I give mega props to whomever catches a Grouper out of Ponce. Honestly, it seems a accident catch is even super rare here. I really would like to try and spend some time trying to catch one but I keep getting the vibe that its a complete waste of time. There is a handful of old captains that I always hear about. They're the only ones that seem to be able to do it. I don't know if this is a myth of the legend type of talk but it sure damn seems like its extremely hard to do.

Is it the same out of the Port ?

There out of Ponce too. Just need to know good spots. There was a commercial spear guy I would see in the mornings and he always told me how he loads up out of Ponce on Grouper.

I stayed on dry land this past weekend as well.
I have a trip planned this coming up weekend with a few guys from work. I have a spot at 8a that never let's me down for ARS. Not big Giants but decent sized.
Hopefully the weather is decent.

Pelican Flats and unfortunately they were all ARS. We couldn't catch anything else but ARS. They were hitting the bait before it got to the bottom.

The spear guys wipe them out , my brother did get a nice gag a few months ago in 90 . It was wearing 4 hooks and leaders . You could try the CST , if you can get past the AJ's . I haven't fished it in a while , but have saved the day there quite a few times .

You have to fish deep , out of Scuba range

My brother's buddy has a spot about 6 miles out of Ponce loaded with ARS. Hoping he gets it for me this weekend.

I forget, but which spot is further out 8A or Pelican if the weather sucks this Saturday. May try to do a dash and go.

The southern tip of 8a is about 13 miles from the jetty.
Northern tip of Pelican Flats is about 16 miles.
