They were all out... Coasties, Fish/Game and Sheriff, looking for easy tickets. My brother forget to get a license and we told them, he said they didn't catch us in the act and it didn't matter.
I'm guessing it was a different boat then from the one we saw up here. They do move out. After he pulled up on the other rec boat I put a rod up and looked over to see if they were heading to us and they were already on the east horizon. That was the only LEO boat we saw all day.

Thinking about, going to watch the wind report closer towards mid-week. Plus I need someone to go with me, I don't have a good fishing friend...

They had a little more coverage out there than usual due to the launch in the late afternoon. They had to chase people out of the zone starting about 3pm. The actual launch zone which started about an hour before launch extended all the way to Pelican - so you can imagine that goat rope. Launch got delayed by one boat they missed by 30 mins, but the finally got it out of the area just in time.

I counted - Sheriff, State fish and game, Feds, Coast Guard, Port Police - probably missed something else...

Good work on the marlin. I have been fishing offshore for 20 years here - never caught one inn this area.

Yeah, was thinking of going out tomorrow (Wednesday) but the weather looks questionable. So, I'm no trying to figure out Friday or Saturday. Friday Night is Crash-a-Rama in Bithlo, so not sure how many of my buddies will be de-fireballed by saturday morning...

All my friends can't boat and can't fish. I really need to get out more often. I like them enough, but I've had them on the boat and ...dear lord I can't do everything. I don't mind either driving or rigging, but can't do it all. Hoping to meet some of the central Florida folks to go with.

Well, I live 5 mins from the port. So, if you ever feel the need to go out and can't find anyone, shoot me a PM.

Considering it.

Maybe we should sticky a Port Canaveral roll call type thread for reports, buddy boats, etc?

Better yet, lets start a secret underground society... Like, handshakes, oaths, hazing, whole 9 yards.

Or, if it is easier, can Lightning edit the title and remove the date?

A Roll call/ report thread for the port would be awesome, FLSportsman forum for east central has been declining for the past few years it seems like.

I pretty much exclusively fish out of Port Canaveral for the last 8 years. I have a older 19CC removable crows nest and a 2012 Zuke 140 4s. Nothing Fancy just something sturdy and reliable to get me out fishing.

I regularly take her out 20-30+ on the good days,

Always willing to ride out with someone that needs it- just shoot a PM.

I agree. This forum is much more active than Florida Sportsman.

I'm a weekend warrior from Orlando, but any good weather opportunity I head out of PC. I've probably logged about 20 offshore trips this year. I think this type of thread is well overdue.

same here Rocks, i have only been the weekend warrior for about 2 years and honestly it sucks, I miss fishing the weekdays when the ramp is empty and every goober for 50 miles isn't in the buoy line or running up on me when anchored to see what structure I am fishing.

I fished 3-5 days a week for years before the M-F Job in Orlando, now i am lucky to get out 3 times a month, having to pick my days doesn't help either.

Who else on here is from Brevard County?

I am. And from what I have heard what you said is true. Ever since they redid the ramps it's been a bit more crazy over there. But, dang -- The old ramps were a drunken zoo on the weekend.

I'm on the water -- so I have to deal with the locks. Not sure if it is better or worse. It's 45mins from dock to jetty -- 30 of which are locks and inlet. And now, its like frogger getting thru all the cruise ships and tankers.

Sub'd as well. I recently bought my CC and want to take it out but kids have been holding me back steady. Also up for going out on others boats if they need a buddy to fish with. Shoot me a PM.

Has anyone been out this week and had any luck around at 8A or Pelican Flats? I might head more north this weekend, just curious. Will be trolling.

Florida Sportsman forum 10-15 years ago was great! Lots of daily posts and information, Then the trolls and know it all showed up, You could not post without a negative comment- fish looks short in the pic, waves weren't that high, you shouldn't be keeping this or that - you get the idea. It got terrible, and the hundreds of us that fish out of Canaveral just quit posting. It was quite the revelation, you are giving a up to date fishing report and people could not just say thank you and move on. Even more surprising were the people that started getting pissed that you would give a report dolphin are biting in the 150' range and would get responses to keep your mouth shut.Point is you now see what the FS forum is... I would love to see this as a robust forum like FS was, but I do not see it happening. Already some sniping going on and maybe that is just the way it is with social media and hiding behind a computer screen.Whatever the case, I'll contribute until the wheels come off.
little slick likes this.
