Not sure what happened but in the video of it getting towed out the rear driver's side wheel was locked so it was either still in park or the E-brake was on (or both).

Sweet! How far out were you? By the Cones or Pelican? You find them on a weed line? Trolling or pitching? Curious as I’ll be out Wednesday.

Being new to ocean fishing, how many miles out is this? The deepest I've been in my boat is 120'.

Out of Canaveral 160' would be about 28-30 miles out, right where the western edge of gulfstream is usually.

Cool thanks. I think at 120' I was probably 18-20 miles out.

At 120' you were only a few miles from the ledge that drops into 170- 180ish ft.

We got out today. It got pretty sporty out past 35 miles. Consistent 4-6’ seas with an occasional 7’ stacked, It was much calmer in from 35 miles though. We ended up having a great day. Hooked 7 Mahi and got 4 of them on the boat! 1 was in 240 ft & all the rest were in 160’.

Dolphin stock seems to be much better this yr (at least what is posted here).

I wonder if lower commercial pressure, fewer charters and tourism is having a positive impact on the numbers??
Not just dolphin either.

Lot of wind this year also kept smaller boats like in close also.

Just a thought.
Nice catch!
