You are not going to get beat-up from waves at a 15 second period. It's when the wind kicks up to 15 to 20 knots across it or against the swell coupled with the resulting wind chop getting mixed in.

No way...When they say 15 seconds - I cut it in half and that is usually close to what I see. However if your really want to get out, nothing that says you can go into the Canaveral bight and get protection from the north wind. Should be some mullet hanging there / fish.

Default Sunk truck

Just saw Video on FB of the unfortunate sinking of a nice white crew cab at the Jetty Park ramp this morning. Anyone have details?

Unless the orange/yellowish and red lights that appear to be underwater just south of the truck's roof antenna are reflections that might be the trailer underwater. Also, looks like you can see the bow stop, or the top of a guide, just peaking it's head above the water in the same area. Trailer jackknifed and wiring still connected to car?

Look at 12 o'clock from the black hood scoop and you'll see the PVC trailer guide just poking above the water. The truck floated over and past the trailer out to deeper water.

I ran out Thursday also. Went all the way out to 33 miles, didn't see a thing. No real break or weed lines. A few flying fish, but no other signs of life. Dragged baits all the way back into 20 miles. Nada.

I'm going to try again this week. Anyone else catching anything out there lately?

Bummer! Looks to me that he used his boat on the trailer to push his truck to the ramp and launch it.

Yea we went out about 40 miles to try deep dropping for tile but didnít get any. We then proceeded to troll after running in a little & found a weed line probably 1/4 to 1/2 mile long. Saw a ton of flying fish, caught 2 sharks & a big cuda trolling the weed line & saw a few smaller mahi but they werenít biting. Iíd guess we were 35 miles out, just past the cones where we saw the weed line & action.

My plan is to hopefully get out Tuesday, not sure if itíll be Canaveral or Ponce as I trailer from the Orlando area (have a 30 ft Scout).

My understanding is he was backed into the ramp ,out of his truck walking back to his boat when he heard a loud pop. My guess is the parking pawl broke and did not have the emergency brake on.

I'll be heading out of PC Tuesday morning as well (6am), in a 25ft Aquasport with twin zukes if you happen go out of PC. I also trailer from Orlando.

Change of plans for me, I'm now going out Wednesday this week instead of tomorrow. Good luck out there tomorrow as it looks to be a beautiful day to be offshore. Let me know how you do since I'll be out the next day!
