Did you buy two blocks of chum? If so I was there at the same time today.

Sorry guys but I grabbed the last box of Sardines at the west marine on OBT on Tuesday. All they had left was chum, squid and ballyhoo.

Yes the bait shops are sold out on the coast also.so i would say you could walk from shore to the fishing spots with all the boats that are going to be out there this weekend between lobsters and the red snappers.

Sounds like someone could clean up if they went down to Baitmasters and loaded up on bait lol ..You could also go over to the west coast (Tampa etc ) and get bait if it's still sold out on our side .

Went today out of Ponce on the water at 5 and off at 2. Very slow all sea bass in the 60’ range I was fishing to the south east. I pushed out to numbers in 100-130 and I scored two snapper maybe 6lbs each. I went to 27fathom and I was marking fish all over. We landed porgies and sea bass but had a few large hits that broke off. Maybe shark. Small flyers in 150-200’ with weeds scattered everywhere. I’m done for this weekend but if I were going tomorrow I would start at 100’ and deeper. Hope this helps.

went out of ponce today. argoil wreck , bait was hard to come by, got some grunts, went to party grounds, nothing, not even a sea bass or trigger fish...went to mango hole, wind was blown out of the west pretty stiff. was hard to hold bottom. decided to anchor at mango hole to avoid the wind hoping the current wasn't ripping. was tough holding bottom w 32 oz of weight. unreal tough conditions. did hold bottom w that much weight, not even a bite or a nibble. no trigger fish, no sea bass, nothing. went to maxine wreck, same thing. not a bite on squid, cigar minnows, or live bait. never seen an ocean where you couldn't even catch trash fish. not sure whats going on. weights weren't cold, baits didnt come up cold. no clue. hopefully tomorrow is better

Default ...but what about trolling

I know everyone is ARS focused this weekend...but my son is on leave and he wanted to get out and troll. He's not interested in the bottom bite. I know there are weeds everywhere but wondering if anyone has had some success. Advice?

Cheers.

J lightning i hope you had a good day, sorry the spot i gave you turned out to be not so good that day.i have never had any boats on it before and yesterday before we left it it looked like a parking lot.on our second stop there i lost around a 20lb cobia at the boat i hooked on the bottom.
we ran north to another spot almost east of the port, when we got there there was another boat on it and they just pulled up a moster ars and when they left we went to my spot and we could not find any snapper,we got a nice trigger and some sea bass and a huge shark around 7ft.
also on that spot we had 2 free swing mahas swim right up to the boat and of course it was the first time all day we did not have a flat line in the water and we missed them.that spot was in 85 ft of water.

Limited out in about an hour in 175ft. No monsters but all good sized fish. Vented and released plenty of smaller ones. Conditions were great as far as I’m concerned and not many people were fishing where i was, considering it’s definitely no secret spot. Saw one public wreck on the way in had at least 50 boats on it. Crazy.

Ramp was was absolutely loaded by 6AM but honestly it went quickly. Everyone did great getting their boats out efficiently. We were back filleting by 1:00PM or so. FWC were out in force but they were quick and easy. Just looked over the gunnel at my fish box and chatted a bit. Customs were out there in some quad motor go-fast boat. Not really sure what they were up to.

Ill upload a pic here soon.

We fished Friday and Saturday. Both days on the water by 5 to beat the zoo. The ramp flowed better Saturday morning it seemed. A lot less tying up and and clogging up the ramp. We moved around a lot Friday finally finding them around 1 in 170'. Saturday hit the same area and had 5 up to 20# by 9am.
