Trout will be on the flats. Great grass flats for miles north and south of the river. Talk to the marinas they will tell you where to go. I normally go south to pepperfish. There is a deep channel that will let you go pretty far in to shore. The last three coves before pepperfish normally hold reds. I wouldnt run on plane in less than four ft of water. Monster rocks. Especially off some of the points. Stick to the channel on the way out of the river. If you want to just chill head north to grassy key. Normally crystal clear water and some decent eye candy.

Just pull up to about 20' from me. That's what most newbies seem to do.
