Default Franzen Marine???

Anyone ever done business with Franzen Marine? I have an out of state freind that wants me to go checkout a 2006 optimax they have for sale for $6700 it has 530 hours and looks real clean in the pictures. Is this a good price?

Thanks,

Josh

Franzen Marine is great, however Brian is not a people person, so once you get by that it's all good.

His crew are the best in their trade. I have never heard a bad word.

I have been to their shop in person and spent a good 15-20 minutes asking questions about engines and options for a re-power. They already came highly recommended but I felt even better after the visit in person.

When the time comes, Franzen is where I'll be buying my used motor.

We're talking acres of engines and parts...lots of options.

Angry Franzen

Well I went by and spoke to Frank on Friday. He took my number and said Brian would call me on Monday. That was 2 weeks ago and did not hear from Brian - I called again earlier this week and spoke to Frank who took my name and number again, said Brian would call me in an hour. That was 5 days ago, still no call from Brian. 3 strikes and your out - no good feedback here.

Sounds like that's only 2 strikes to me. What's the 3rd one?

Interesting first post. Are you so upset someone didn't call you back that it put you over the edge?

Since this is your 1st posting, please be advised, negative feedbacks doesn't fair well ! !

Bought an Etec 250 from them last spring. Was as advertised. Would buy from them again. Dropped an injector at the end of season. Great selection of high hp used motors.

Brian is good people. He may have been out of town or way behind. I know the feeling sometimes we are all playing catch up. Reach out to him via email and he will respond.

I just bought a 2001 Mercury 225 EFI from him, it'll be installed next week. Very knowledgeable guy, I trust him. As stated in other posts he does take a while to respond to calls or emails. I'll post engine update at sea trial in a couple weeks.

I've done business with Franzen for many years on several occasions.
He's put a couple of power heads on two different boats.
It's hit or miss with him.
first one no problem, second one lots of problems which he made good but it cost me lots of money and time.
I've had grease smudges left on the CC and stern, so don't expect stellar service.
He isn't always the best deal in town and don't expect him to appreciate the CASH you give him.
His foreman that made things run better no longer works there either.

How do we know it's not just you? Your other posts are all about negative stuff. Some times in life, when you look around and everything is negative, it isn't the others, it's you - the common denominator.

Not saying you're that. Just askin...

bought my motor from him. a mint 99 Yamaha 150 vmax. low hours, full harness and oil system. 60 day warranty... Frank was easy going and good to deal with, but the whole operation is run like a " what do you want, give me your money, here's your stuff and get out" kinda deal...
knowing to expect that, and not being a "where's my safe-space" kind of person... I'm totally happy with the motor and have had zero problems with it or them.
A friend of mine who now lives just up Westshore from them gets his motor serviced there seasonally and also has no problems- very reasonable prices... just have cash and know don't waste their time.
