I thought you were not supposed to fish until you cleared in Bimini?

I don't see where he said he fished just that he found a pallet.

You are correct I was not being a cop I was just asking. I would have a hard time ignoring a pallet.

We went out yesterday around 9am and found a nice weed patch around 1200'. We had some fun with a school of Mahi but unfortunately all the ones we caught were undersize. We are very new to this and could not get the bigger fish to bite. Unfortunately we did not have any live bait, we had some pink and white lures that we used to catch the little ones. We did end up catching a barracuda that gave us some excitement before we headed back in.

When you find a school like that, it's sometimes best to leave them and try to find the bigger fish. I know its difficult to do considering its most likely the only school you'll run into that day. But look at it this way, the school your on has no keepers so what do you lose by continuing your search for the bigger fish?

When you find a school of dinks you put one on a heavy rod with lead, hook it by the tail and drop it down to the thermocline. Big boys are laying below the dinks 200’-300’ below. Drop a snack to them!

The wind will die down this weekend, there will be some overcast.
Should be a good weekend for fishing.
