Default College kids coming to get a boat

Hey guys, my buddy and myself are coming down from South Carolina tonight to pick up (hopefully) a skiff in West Palm. We are both business majors at Coastal Carolina University and officers in the University's Saltwater fishing club. We are both experienced inshore and offshore fisherman, we are not asking for any secret spots, hell we don't even know where we will launch. We left Myrtle Beach at 11 o'clock on an impromptu adventure.... Just a quick few questions.

-what is biting right now? (Obviously have to ask that, don't want to fish for trout if there's snook laying around)
-where are some good places to eat ?( We vowed not to eat at fast food chains in order to get the most out of the trip)
-is there anyone that knows where to get a cheap room or have a couch to crash for a night? Can alway sleep in the truck if we have too(Will rig ballyhoo or tie flies for food! HA HA)
-any where we should avoid or something that may be extremely taboo in the area? We are down to get the boat, hopefully catch a few fish and have some stories to tell

Thanks ahead of time!

-Paul

just inside the palm beach inlet for snook....farther up the icw for trout (I have caught them in npb) and small redfish...caught them too. Have not been inshore in over a year though and am not sure what the water quality is based upon the Lake O discharge.

since your in the area Sailfish Marina has good food.

looks like seas forecast at 3-4 all weekend

in shore should be your best bet.
forgot to mention Pnut island is a good "sandbar, hangout, relax" location just inside the palm beach inlet

The live bait (mullet) should be abundant if you want to fish the inlet for snook

in that case for snook....just before sunrise...inside the icw near pb up to npb ....be respectful of the private docks...but you can cast to the underwater dock lights and the deck lights....

zara spook or mir o lure....

Eat at The Brass Ring on US1. It's a dive bar with excellent burgers, beer and wings and just about everything else on the menu is great too. Riviera Beach is a bad neighborhood. So avoid it at night. It's a real ghetto!

On the north side of the jetty at the inlet is a ton of snook and tarpon. Offshore fishing is pitiful right now. The current which usually runs north is running south for some reason and has been for a while. The fishing is off but dolphin and small blackfin are out there.

Thanks for the heads up! Sorry to hear about the offshore game right now, our wahoo bite is off the chain right now.... Weekend warriors are boats 4-6 fish a day in the 30-60 lb class. We are coming through Palm Bay? Right now. Keep the suggestions and tips coming any and everything is helpful!

I would definitely fish the dock lights at night for snook. We used to do this often and always had a great time. Just live shrimp and some fluorocarbon and the fun starts.

If you make it down to Ft. L give me a shout my brother is a CC Marine Science alumni he's living in the keys now. I'd be happy to help another Chanticleer out

If you go to sailfish marina by boat be very mindful of the current. Very fast water there. Launch at phil foster park.
