Default Boca Hillsboro Fishing thread....

Post your local fishing results.. er... lies here

I'll start....

After spending most of the day at the lake, I finally went fishing for an hour on Saturday..
Water was glassy along the beach... I set up shop and trolled along hoping for a Spanish Mack, nothing doing(they may have moved north), went a little further off and caught a couple of Bonita, then headed back in. Not bad for an hour trip

Saturday:
Dozens of bonita, seven blackfins - six footballs and one about 18lbs... Jigging and live bait. Scattered reports of dolphin offshore but only one boat reported a catch.

Monday:
25lb cobia to start the day. Trolled from 450-800 for gaffer dolphin - blanked - not even a knock down. Had a large blue marlin in the spread. Couple tuna on the way home in about 300 on jigs. Reports of tuna on feathers in 150-200. Slow day, no reports of dolphin offshore.

Wednesday:
Going out early tomorrow for wahoo - anyone have any luck lately?

Looks like this weekend is going to be good.

I think I'll be going out Saturday. I haven't been fishing in a while, and the freezer is gettin' empty.

I considered fishing in that tourney, but couldn't get a group together, so we're hittin the lake instead. Good luck!

If I didn't have to work today, I'd be trolling for Sushi... Damn it looks nice today

I'll be out on Sat as well. We usually run out of Hillsboro, but may divert south since we are not fishing the tourney. Tight lines!

If I can convince the crew, we'll head out of hillsboro, and fish up to boca on our way to the lake.... I'm hoping they'll be onboard with that idea

Thurs. 5/9 - Boca - trolled around for an hour and a half before sunset - didn't have any bait, just trolled naked skirts in and out, caught a football in 400' and a bonita in 200' - both hit a pearl mylar/pink glitter skirt. Gonna head out tomorrow and do some snapper fishing and deep dropping

I'm going to head out of PE around 3 pm on sat. I'm going to try the evening bite and see what happens. I also am planning on staying out after dark and doing some chumming. If anyone could help me out as far as what is better north or south of PE?? Or what depths have been productive lately it would greatly be appreciated. I will report back after the trip with any info I can. Thanks

I'm going out Hillsboro in the AM, where and what time is this tournament starting so I can go the opposite way? Has anybody had any luck off shore lately? Last couple times I've been out and stayed in less than 300 feet, I've had nothing. Thinking tomorrow about looking for a nice weed line or birds further out, keeping my fingers crossed. Those of you fishing the tournament, good luck and have fun

If you don't mind me asking, where are you heading for snapper?

Heard some reports of nice bulls 20+ miles out. Leaving at 5 from the dock with 2 of the 3 kids headed east.

I went out about 13 miles today and didn't find a dam thing! How did it go 20 miles out? It was nice early this am but picked up a bit later in the morning?

Well, my wife and I cleared the inlet at 6:55, headed southeast for 30 minutes, and started fishing in 950'. I set out the 2 long riggers, and was lettin' out the 3rd, and it got yanked out ouf my hand............first mahi in the boat. We got 5 more in the next hour and a half, trolled for another hour without a bite, and headed back in.
Wind started blowing pretty good, and we saw 4-5 footers. Back at the dock at noon.

Good day

Fished alone yesterday after work, put 6 mahi on ice and lost a big bull

Tried again today and the rain and wind had me back on the trailer by 10 AM with a skunk.

promised my girl lunch on the water for mothers day tomorrow little does she know I am bringing the rods in hopes of sweet talking my way out of the inlet.
