Default Dry Tortugas by sea plane

I'm heading down to Del Ray next month and might spend a day or two in Key West. I saw the Key West Sea Plane Adventures to Dry Tortugas and was thinking about taking a 1/2 day trip with my girlfriend. Anybody used them?

Thanks

Brian

No, I have not used them but see them there all the time since we go by boat. Looks like fun.

x2. If you've not been there and go by seaplane, you'll definately want to go back by boat and fish!

I never even heard of the Tortugas before i joined this site but they look incredible. I live up north however a trip there has already been added to my "list" of fishing spots to hit in the next few years. This Florida trip just popped up, and since my jeweler is almost done with the engagement ring, I figured it would be a pretty cool spot to pop the question. She loves to scuba dive however gets sick easily on boats, so I just hope she is ok on the flight!

There is a lot of history at the Fort. I always thought it was funny that they built a moat around the Fort on the island. I mean if someone can get across 70 miles of ocean from the nearest land I would think they could get across a 12 foot moat once they got there.;?

BJM, I snorkled there (couldnt get the gear on the boat) but you can snorkle all around the moat and with just that it took a good hour and the marine life will blow you away

If she gets sick on boats don't plan on popping the "question" while getting bounced around in a small plane

Flew from Fort Myers to Key West two weeks ago on a 9 seater plane....NO PROBLEM...SMOOTH. Did look into flying from Key West to DT but they were booked for the 4 days we were there. All that said, do the flight but book it early. A little dramamine will make the flight even smoother for girlfriend and it will increase the chance she says yes! Good luck.

I have taken that ride. About 30 mins out and 40 mins back. Alot better than a really long boat ride that takes up 1/2 the total day. Great views and a different perspective. A lot more money at about $225/person but worth it I think. If its windy, its clearly the better way to go as the boat ride would be miserable.
