I have to agree Publix is right up there with their version of Key Lime Pie. I never recall throwing any out.

(Key Lime Pie is like Pizza, in that there is very seldom a bad pie. Just a less good pie).

The one my wife makes. Most of the ones you buy are loaded with artificial crap. Mrs. Mac's was good about 15 years ago... now, terrible IMHO. (And I loved that place at one time!)

Sweet savanna was awesome only problem is we ate it all after dinner. I’m hoping the trading post has one so we have some to take home.

The best Key Lime Pie by far is at Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami Beach. A close second best is Ziggie & Mad Dogs in Upper Matecumbe. The Key Lime Pie Factory at the 92 MM (SB) in Tavernier is pretty good also.

I've tried all the ones listed and the fish house in key largo makes my favorite key lime pie

2 cans sweetened condensed milk
4 eggs
3/4 cup lime juice and the zest from those limes

Throw it all in a blender and blend it on high for a while.

Pour it in an extra large keebler graham cracker crust and then bake at 350 for half an hour.

Add some powdered sugar and vanilla to some heavy whipping cream and make it into whipped cream. Don't make it too sweet.

Better and cheaper than almost any key lime pie you'll find aanywhere.

Roberts fruit stand in Florida City makes a good one and you can get some produce while you are there and a milk shake to drink in the car.
