I’m surprised no one said Keys Fisheries. That has to be my favorite.
Also make it at home. 3 egg yolks, 1/3 cup fresh squeezed key lime juice, and one can of sweetened condensed milk. Beat well and then bake it in the mini Keebler Graham cracker crusts for about 12 minutes .
Then to go over the top, I freeze them. Stick a popsicle stick in it And then coat in dark chocolate and sprinkle almond slivers and sea salt. I make 2 doz at a time and keep them in the freezer in quart size freezer bags. Friends always ask if I have any when they come over.
key lime tree has a bunch of flowers on it now. Looks like I’ll be doing this again in a few months.

Why buy one. You can make a great one for a $1.25 in 10 minutes You do not cook. The lime juice will cook the eggs and milk which is the way old conchs prepared. if you want a browned crust rather than graham cracker just pre brown frozen pie crust and let cool

Ok we ate sweet savanna’s last night wife liked it best. I got a keylimepielady at the trading post in islamadora this morning on the way out. It is good but I tend to agree with wife sweet savanna was best and a lot cheaper. 8 bucks to be exact.
I was talking to one of the old ladies at the cash register. Told her manny and Issa was my favorite. She claimed the pie they make at the trading post was their recipe. I didn’t buy one but I will next time I’m down there. I think what made manny and Issa was the meringue.
yes my wife can make one and yes Publix is my go to here in WG. Just wanted to sample so other places thanks again for the comments and suggestions.

My absolute favorite is from Sundowners. A whole pie is $30 and I still buy it when I’m leaving the keys. Very Key Lime tart and a lot of syrup drizzle. Just watering thinking about it.

Ditto on the homemade. Nothing from anyone will ever be as good as one made fresh. I use a bad of mey limes and zests, 6 to 8 egg yolks, a can of sweetened condensed milk and make my own crusts with butter and Graham crackers. Baked or not.
You can amp it up with key lime juice , putting coconut in the crust etc... but this is definitely a case of less is more.
You can further amp it by adding two room temp packages of cream cheese , whipping it up and baking low temp to make an amazing key lime cheesecake.
We just got pissed at paying money for junk with corn syrup, artificial colors and other crap in many of the commercial ones.

I agree mrs macs used to be good and now is terrible. Joe’s stone crab by far the best. Have tried many of the places listed here and none come close to joes for me. The recipe is on their website and it’s the one I use when I make it at home. And now I have to try Publix since everyone is saying how great it is, I would have never thought that.
