Default North Captiva/Cabbage Key

Several years ago we enjoyed bouncing around between North Captiva and Cabbage Key with friends that brought their boat down from Tampa.

We’ve thought of piecing together a trip this summer jumping around between Boca Grande, Captive, and figuring out how to get sponsored at Useppa.

Before investing too much energy into planning out a journey through Lake O, has anyone completed that type of itinerary?

Second does anyone have similar recommendations along the east coast anywhere between Palm Beach County and Marathon?

Do a search, there are multiple threads on all of these islands, and boat hopping between them. There’s a prior thread on Useppa as well

It’s a great area to hop around the different islands. We do it almost every weekend, weather pending. Our normal trip is to leave BG, head south on ICW to southern tip of Sanibel, round tip and turn north out into gulf, run to North Captiva, Useppa or Cabbage Key for lunch, regardless of lunch location we head to North Captiva for ice cream as long as they are open, hang out at Cayo Costa for a while, head back to house. Been doing that loop for about 10 years and it never gets old. Occasionally we head north to Venice but only if we want to run gulf both directions. No wake zones on ICW suck otherwise.
