This thread is deleted since the goddesses of THT know what happened better than I. I had no clue you all were there with me watching this happen.

As someone who was literally born and raised on the water and is on the boat most likely 3 or 4 days a week, I thought it was a good reminder to others. Shit happens quickly out there and I should know better as I have responded to more calls of boats and divers run over than I care to remember.

This incident was eye opening because I was able to watch this vessel coming straight at us for a couple miles to only pass within 100ft of us in the open with no other boats in sight. If we wouldn’t have put the motor in gear it would have passed even closer.

I miss the old days of THT when people would share their experiences without the keyboard warrior, know it all’s.

Tight lines and be safe.

So you were in the ocean today and a big boat went past you and waked you, so you get the boat name, maybe even the Capt's name, maybe the boats marina slip number, maybe the Capt is not the owner, maybe you even get some home address's? You could even go out in your boat tomorrow and snoop around docks on Stock Island and maybe find the boat - then what you gonna do - call the Coast Guard, confront the Capt or the owner, write a letter to the editor, what about calling Ghostbusters?"

Probably on autopilot and didn’t pick you up until close. Just consider yourself fortunate and don’t make a bad situation worse.

Thats exactly what I figured was happening, just figured this post was a good reminder for others to keep any eye out for other idiots on the water!

So you went out in open water in the ocean in a bay boat and your angry bc the capt saw you, changed course, and didnt run you over? If you were in protected water or the ICW you'd have a case but you really have nothing to complain about here.

You did the right thing and kept yourself out of danger. Other boat didn't do anything wrong.

Don't play big boy games if you can't afford the entry price.

If your tea cups fell and cracked, then he is responsible for replacing them.

If its 90ft long it looks pretty far away from you. More than 150 ft. More like 150 yds.

player stop man lol. “glad your ok “. The man took a wake not depth charges from a u boat. Can’t imagine how upset the OP would be if someone took his first row parking space at the K Mart down there.
