Default Gags before the closure

Fished west of Clearwater Wednesday morning. Never got past 50 feet. We were back at the dock before noon. Fish were eating dead and live bait equally well. The bite was steady and ended up with some real nice fat fish. The biggest was just over 35 inches. Had 3 in the mid to upper teens. Hoping to get out once more before it closes.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

Are those Speedmaster IIs? Curious what grouper rod/reel/line setup you prefer?

The reels are Talica 16`s , the rods are made by Indian Rocks Tackle or Shimano, we use 65 # green Power Pro with a 60# mono top shot and Flouro carbon leaders in 50 , 60 or 80. Depending on the water clarity and how the fish are biting. Lately I think you could use 100# leader the way they have been chewing.
