They aren't what they used to be!Sometime in the last 6 to 9 months there has been a change in ownership. The quality of the product has gone down. The recipes have changed and coleslaw is now terrible. They have ruined the Half and Half Chowder taste like canned. the old servers who had been there for years are gone. Tables need a good cleaning. they were always old and quaint, but clean. I'm not going there anymore. SO SAD ONE OF THE BEST IS GONE!

Really? It looks like a tourist trap which usually equals poor quality.

I bought 2 dozen shrimp from Skip One on 41 last year and threw them out when I got home and opened the bag--they smelled really bad.

Owner is still Dennis Henderson (33+ years). 90% of their reviews on Google in the past 9 months have been positive.

I have not been since last year but will go soon to see what is different.

Bought shrimp from Skip One today. Always fresh for me. It’s the only shrimp I buy that doesn’t stink up the house when I sauté it.
I’m sure they’ve had some Turnover with employees. You know, Covid and all.

Not your typical FL seafood place but I have heard great things, and the Google reviews are almost 5 star: https://www.capecodfishco.com/

We have only lived in the area since May but we found a couple good, casual places worth a visit. Fathoms or Rum Runners on Cape Coral. Both excellent food and on the water atmosphere. Doc Fords on Ft. Myers Beach for the same reasons. I think all three are worth the drive from Ft. Myers.

Enjoy!

My wife has worked at Skip One during season for the last 15 years. Dennis Henderson is still the owner and his daughter runs the restaurant. My wife has not worked since January. She worked for the first time last weekend. They have changed the prices quite a bit since last year. There is two new servers from last year. The other four have been with Skip One forever. The two cooks have been there forever as well. Dennis takes great pride that his seafood is fresher and better than anyone else’s.

Just asked the wife and the coleslaw is the same recipe she has been making for 15 years. It is made daily by the restaurant and if someone gets the recipe wrong unless you’d say something while you are there, they would not know. The clam chowder soup IHO has always been too thick.
