Default Woman falls off boat at Haulover

Interesting video to watch. Fortunately for her the jet skiers were near by. She was lucky she was not run over

Pretty stupid to have people forward in those conditions. Really good for your spine.

I can understand running a inlet to get out to go fishing or having a destination. Where are all the boats going?
Are they just doing it to be doing it and beating the shit out of themselves and their boats.

Damn lucky she didn't get chopped up!

There's another video of it and it's focusing more on her and the entire time in the water she's worried about keeping her cell phone high and dry. Not sure what the other idiot was doing jumping in, now the captain has two people in the water. My guess is he kept going because he saw the wave runner guys there helping out right away but who knows.

I deliver boats through that inlet all the time. When the tide is running like that, turning a boat is the last thing you should do. I’ve seen boats chicken out halfway through and capsize or slam the rocks trying to turn around. When conditions are that bad and you commit to going through the pass you have to maintain course until clear. And I would have to agree (Or hope) that the captain saw the jet ski coming to rescue the girl. No idea wtf David Hasselhoff was thinking jumping off the back after all that time went by??? It’s amazing more deaths or accidents don’t happen at this place....

The only good decision that captain made was not instantly turning around.

WTF - what was she doing with her feet in the air - headstands in the boat ? The captain is a tool for not recognizing the danger level and the stupidity of what she is doing. I would not be comfortable with my kids or anyone riding in the bow in those conditions. Everything about this incident screams no common sense. They got lucky on so many levels it is not even funny. If she would have bonked heard off the boat with no life jacket it is game over. I hope the reason she is laughing and smiling while she is struggling to get on the wave runner is because she was in shock, nothing funny about this at all. My guess is nobody on that boat learned a dam thing from this incident.

At first I thought why is she sitting ON the bow....then I realized this is a 31-33 ft BOWRIDER made by Formula. That boat has an actual walk-through and seating up there. Seems the first wave forced so much water in/under her that the next wave tossed her up and out.

Nah - she was arsing about on the ledge in front of the windshield at the start of the video. When a wave hits you in a bowrider you end up on the floor - just like the other two people who got tossed about in that vid. A high degree of dumbassery going on in that boat with apparently not a single person on board smart enough to say - hey: you should probably come down from there while we go through here (not to mention the entire rest of our journey and all future journeys).

Just staggering. You don't need brains to make money, apparently.

Tons.

Yesterday saw a guy standing on the bow of an older cruiser "titanic" style as they came up onto plane from a bridge. Not even a bow rider.

Also saw a guy on the side access standing next the salon on a ~50' viking, holding onto the outrigger with one hand, and the phone with another. Not on plane (or semi planing.. whatever you call a 50' sport fish doing), but moving through a very congested area through a narrow train bridge.

Between the hanging fenders and the people packed in the bows it really is a unique spectacle at Haulover. I can't believe she seemed to cling to her phone like that!! Shocking.

Soooooooo there is an entire youtube channel solely dedicated to this inlet by a guy who sets up a camera on the jetty and zooms in on bikini butts and qualified captains as they drive by? What a time to be alive.
