Default Perry Hotel

Looking to stay somewhere in or near keywest. Hauling the boat down, a conch 27 w/ straight shaft so need an on-site or nearby boat ramp and marina w/ deep water at least 3 ft to be comfortable. The Perry looks great, but since this is my first time actually boating/fishing down there, I'm looking for info on good snorkel spots in the nearby area. We will be doing a lot of fishing too, and may even wander out to the Tortugas. I have been visiting the keys for over 25 years, usually staying in Islamorada and upper keys. Looking for something different. Any recommendations are appreciated.

About 6 or 7 miles south of the navel air station is a pretty nice reef to snorkel around. Its been several years since I've been there but it was really pretty when I went.

The Perry is very nice, as is the marina and bar/restaurant. I have been there but not stayed there, although I would have no issue staying at The Perry. Be careful venturing around Stock Island as there are a lot of criminals who live and hide from law enforcement on that island and in the liveaboards off of Stock Island.

We were down there over the 4th of July. Two couples stayed in Perry and we stayed on our boat. Nice place

We stay there the night before our Tortugas trips and it is top notch. Matts kitchen has great food. The Marina there is very nice as well. The neighborhood you drive through to get there isn't great looking, but never had an issue with theft or anything.

Stayed at the Marina there in January and February and really loved the location, amenities and general feel of the place. Couple years back, I staged from there for my trip to the Tortugas. When I was there, their fuel dock was under repair and they only had a very SLOW temporary pump - might want to check on that before you go.

Stayed there for a week in June last year and came back for a week this June. Very nice. Hotel and Marina seem brand new. Most if not all slips have electric and water. Bring your own hose. Expensive but good value. Gas pump was still down, only diesel here. Fueled up at Ocean Edge Resort and Marina 5 minutes North, similar resort/marina also very nice. Would consider staying there as well. Hogfish Grill and Roostica are very good and close.
