I've been pretty anti-mask myself. (I think those paper masks make a nice accessory for the soy latte and skinny jeans crowd.)

BUT...I wear buffs all day long when I am out fishing and have a dozen or so of them. (Must have for sun protection...)

AND...I work daily with NYC clients who have been heavily impacted by this thing. (Its real...even if you haven't been directly impacted...)

So I just wear a buff when I am out with my wife and kids. (They have masks in different colors.)

Completely agree. My two cents from experience. I work on logistics to try to open / keep these places open. We don't even care about hand washing anymore. Biggest fear is aerosol transmission. Right or wrong, the staff in most of these places are required to wear em, and they are classified at most risk other than the people they serve. Be prepared to cover up in some way, shape or form and you're all good.

I personally was avoided mask required places. But no where is really enforcing it that I've encountered. If asked say you have a condition and they leave you alone.

What if your condition is your american ,free ,and realize that the guy who suggests we wear them goes to a ball game doesnt wear it , goes to a hearing and constantly removes and puts back on ,just like he sez not to do?
Its a tool , we should all care this is about a free and great country , masks dont work ,covid is a political tool

Although the original post is several weeks old, masks are not required by law in Captiva (as Captiva is a part of unincorporated Lee County). They are required on Sanibel as they are their own incorporated city and passed a mask mandate. Of course, an establishment on Captiva (as many are) may request patrons to wear one.

I'm glad I put in a pool this year. Use the boat for fishing, going to the sandbar, and day/evening day cruises. The pool and spa is my new get away instead of going to resorts.

I guess I just can't comply with the mask thing.

SW FL is all masks all the time. Wouldn’t be if so many from Broward stayed home and wore a mask.

Just got back from seven days at South Seas.

Had a GREAT time... ate all over... beaches, pools, kayaked Buck Key... fished...cast netting... made a bunch of friends (kids too)...

Place is fantastic. Top-notch staff and marina.

Showers with all toiletries, towels, etc.

95% of people were like minded as far as the flag they flew on their boat...

And almost no masks. We usually didn’t bother unless we were asked. Then we had a paper towel or a gaiter in our pocket to play pretend that held by our mouths.

Ran Lake O there... ran home under and up due to lock closures.

Fantastic last minute trip. Highly recommend. I’ll post some pics after getting caught up with work.

We are already planning a Pensacola trip with a finale at South Seas again!

PS: If the mask thing is your speed... go to Key West!! It’s like a masker colony I hear!!!!
