Default Skipjack Marathon Reviews

Anyone stayed here lately? I'm headed down next month and getting a little worried reading some of the reviews.

just stayed, if you have any questions let me know...

NOTHING was wrong with the place at all for us, honestly I couldn’t have imagined a better hotel experience.

No, we will be renting a boat, I took my ski last year but too far for me to drag the boat.

i figured the place was ok for the low maintenance people like us but was just a bit concerned with the reviews... probably just a little worried with everything going on right now

Most everyone this goes to the keys wants a 4 star hotel with a slip at a dump price. Some are old and not updated and others at too much money and nothing has been updated. Skip jack has come a long way and tries to be a apartment/ hotel with a dock. People seam to only post the bad and not the good.Go and report back and help everyone on THT. Enjoy. The ride out maybe long ,but you will have the time to setup for the day , and clean up when coming back. Mangrove snapper and yellowtail should be spawnin so the reef will be great late afternoon to after sunset. Good Luck.

I don’t know what they could leave a bad review about... rooms are clean, actually remodeled rooms that look great inside. The dock is fine, just doesn’t have a hose to clean off, but there is a spot to clean fish down on the corner just ask at the desk. The ONLY bad thing I have to say is that there is no freezer/fridge... it’s just a mini fridge so keeping fish was tough, but we did it with ice no problem

the ride out and back in the canal is a bit long, maybe 20 minutes each way, but I just had the wife drive while I rigged up for the day and it was fine

Wife and I stayed there last year. Low key place. Rooms are simple and clean. Easy ride to the Ocean or over to Burdines and gas docks. They have (may not now with covid) a pool bar and serve a simple continental breakfast. Really close to Publix and Walgreens. Short drive to just about anything in Marathon. They have a ramp for guests only and let you park boat/trailer on the old tennis courts. Some covered parking for cars, first come. We had a very nice time. There is a nice beach a short drive where the channel meets the ocean, again with covid who knows.

I agree with the others. Been a little bit since my family stayed there. We were extending our stay and book last minute. Staff was super accommodating and helpful with our boats and trailers. We were traveling with another family and they agreed. The pool/tiki bar was epic!

I believe it has since changed hands and this was right when they completed the renovation, but we had no complaints aside from the long idle out to open water, but you’re in the keys so slow down and enjoy the scenery.

We stayed at KCB and Skipjack. The rooms were nice and renovated but not convenient for fishing. The marinas fuel prices are much higher and they have limited supplies... It’s a much different vibe over there with the live on sailboats and such... I much prefer the area by Vaca cut.

Also several permanent residents at SJ. It’s not somewhere I would take my family to again.
