Default Port Everglades Expansion

Port Everglades is on track to go a major expansion that will dredge millions of tons of silt out into the reefs so that larger ships can use the port. What are your thoughts? How will this impact our environment, mainly our reefs and fisheries and our local economy that depends on fishing, diving, snorkeling and pleasure boating in general? How has the Port Miami expansion affected those businesses and the environment there?

Between the dredging and natural beach erosion, a lot of sand has been deposited on near shore reefs over the years along coastal Florida. Witnessed it since the 70's with Government Cut and Miami Beach. This must happen, in the name of progress.

Could it make the fishing any worse out front?

They already ruined Ft Lauderdale when they had a bright Idea of making reefs from car tires.
