Default Looking for Sword fishing contacts in S FL

Iím in central FL and to swordfish we have to run a min of 55 miles and usually over 70. Been successful but this season I want to fish more in south Florida to get Into some better fishing and a shot at a nickel.

I will be bringing my boat down there from time to time but also hoping to find some guys either looking for another crew Member to split costs and tasks or someone that has a boat down there and wants some help getting started. Iím happy to trade a seat on the boat for some knowledge. Itís a lot easier to just go fishing then trailer the boat too so looking for options.

back in the day Florida sportsman had a forum for stuff like this 😂

I fish out of Boca/Hillsboro inlet. Just getting into Swording and purchased all the gear. I have the basic knowledge of how its done and where to fish. However, I'm looking for someone that has done it before that wants to come along. Feel free to message me if you wish to discuss.

Based on a thread similar to this one a kind guy on THT offered to take me swordfishing on my first trip 6 or 7 years ago. That first trip we caught a 335# sword.

I feel to the need to pass that kindness along. PM me. I'm fishing out of Jupiter and PBI.

A bit easier at night vs daytime. Same general area ,just not near the bottom of the water column. Drifting bait at 150' 200' 250' with a lite in a float will get you started. Good luck.

I definitely would be interested in this when I get the boat down to FL. Will be in Stuart area. Late summer next winter. I have all the stuff. Deep dropping in the Northeast last couple seasons. Want to get some guys to be regulars to fish with and have fun like we do up north.

It might be farther of a run up there but the fishing is every bit as good up there as it is in South Florida. There are 2 major reasons people think it is better here: 1. Because there are 200 boats fishing every fishable weekend day. So lots of fish get caught. CPUE is relatively low. 2. The best swordfisherman in the world fish out of here.
