Default swordfishing yesterday

Fished hard (three baits in the water) all day yesterday off Pompano/Hillsboro areas. Fished three or four areas. Not even a bite. Beautiful day on the water though.

How deep were your fishing ? How long (miles) were your drifts ? What size electric reels do you need ?
I'm thinking about trying it this coming year. Know nothing about it. Capt. Billy /Right Stuff

We went a few weeks ago with the exact same results. We did have a nice something on for about 30 minutes until we pulled the hook though.

I use the new Diawa seaborg 1200mj 2speed - 80# braid - 150' 250lb leader - lights - 8-10lb weight
1400 - 1900' maintain drift at 2kts
Drift for about 40 min then check bait
.

We covered from bottom up 300/400' pretty darn good. Snagged one squid but really didn't have a squid problem. So either the fish weren't there or they weren't eating. Drift was slowish, around 2 knots. And yes, we had lights.
