Default Boat Center is Closed

Driving down SR7 and see the property is up for sale and empty. Wonder what happened, they seemed like a good shop.

Love all the rumors 🤣 After Contender we were the #1-2 Yellowfin dealer in the country for the last decade.
Some things are correct... After a very successful and impressive 40+years with many boat lines, thousands of clients and an impeccable track history of honest business dealings, three long term employees, 30years + retired. At that point the remaining partners chose to close that location and focus on their remaining Miami store. I personally had a great 16 years there, had hundreds of new boat clients & some even became great friends. Boat Center Ft.Lauderdale will be greatly missed. Not many in this industry still offer that fair and honest business relationship...What a great run!! I was privileged to work there😎

Default Great place

Didn't buy a yellowfin or contender , but got a lot of parts and advice from Kip. You guys were aways helpful and could get my parts in a couple of days. Good luck and enjoy retirement and the south store , thanks.Jim

Thanks Jim! Glad to hear you had a positive experience dealing with us. That truly was always our goal and Kent was great dealing with all our parts customers as well as Mike who is now at Pompano Beach Marine Center, look him up there for Broward Yamaha parts, he’s great! I’m a few years away from retirement though sadly, as I have joined Invincible Boats in factory direct sales and looking forward to the new adventure. Thanks again for all your Boat Center business !!! 😎

Awesome! Chick is a legend in the industry! He doesn’t get enough credit for what he did in this business. Class act...We had a very large percentage of repeat boat buyers, that says something. Think the record was like 12-14 boats by one client over 30 years! Thanks for the business, will miss the shop and our great, faithful customers like you... E-

Best wishes to the Broward Boat center folks on all future endeavors. Boat Center north and south have a well deserved stellar reputation. The Miami Boat Center is still alive and well, my neighbor Gary Lawson is an owner and he is as stand up as you can possibly get. Honest, certified technicians. They do all my service, and poor Gary puts up with all my shenanigans. He’s a great friend

Boat Center is the best, wish you were telling me you were moving to Jupiter... 97-98 season I blew a lower unit coming in from catching bait day 2 of tournament in 1st place. I figured screw it, Ill just fish out front day 2 on 1 motor... Gary heard and went to the shop at midnight, then changed my gear case at the marina.... I didn't ask him to do any of that and he was also fishing the tournament! Naked Furniture, good old days... In my opinion Boat Center & Fred Herman were a major, if not the, stepping stone for rigging & customizing center consoles, fishing that is, for the country.

Thats awesome! Totally sounds like Gary!! He's almost too generous in customer service!! Those were the days, selling Contenders and Fred doing really cool custom work on them in the old Avocado tree property in south Miami. We had a huge following, me included. Fred rigged at least 3-4 of my Contenders. And I even bought some "Naked Furniture" from Gary's brother in law out of his Naked Furniture store down south for my house. Good times...

I will add to the positive comments on Gary and the Boat Center. They have helped me several times with issues with boating.

It is nice to deal with someone who didn't inherit the business but got into it because it is his passion.
