New bridge, 18' clearance, vertical lift span.

Also will be double tracked. So don't think they've building it as a favor to boaters, other than maybe the 18' part.

Yea, FEC is such an honest neighbor. 18'? Gonna lower the river? I'll believe it when I see it. They haven't been truthful about anything yet.

Absolutely. Those who buy into "brightline" are drinking the koolaid. There might be a "tourist" train once or twice a week when the cruise ships come to Miami..but 30 trains a day? Hell, Brightline is hemmorghing money now..they'd be better off to pay people NOT to ride it.

" Miller, who has been in talks with Virgin Trains about replacing the bridge, said its 18-foot elevation would be 7 feet higher above the water than the current bridge. The center would lift to 65 feet, as high as the Roosevelt Bridge next to it, she said. "

7 feet higher? Are they telling us it’s 11’ clearance at mean high water now? Yeah, right.... and that 65’ V lift bridge is gonna be purdy.

I just copied the from that pdf . I went and looked when I saw 18' and thought no way are they gonna cut off traffic across state - can't get any boat with size under 18' . That's going to be some structure lifting a piece of track 65' feet up . I went under the current one in the flats boat when a train was going over for kicks
