Still doesn’t say how much the pleasure boat fee increases.

I think what Lobster diver was saying is that it reads fees are going up, just doesn’t say to what.

right, thought it was clear. Fees are increasing but no quantification of the amount.

I think they'll keep the $150 fee the same for the smaller boats. I think what they'll do is make it so a 40' isn't paying the same as a 100' -- and then they'll make it so that if you stay longer, you pay more.

I actually don't think that's crazy. If you have a yacht with 10 people on it, why should you pay the same as the guy with 37' Bertram and a family of 4? Just like if you're a cruiser living there for 5 months v. the guy coming for 2 weeks.

I also think if they take the "what if" out of the clearing and do it online... that'll be a huge thing. Although I'm starting to figure out where to cross and where not to cross.

The larger yachts are putting a lot more into the local economy than the smaller cruisers so that needs to be taken into account as well. I agree that the smaller long term cruisers should pay more than the families that come for a couple of weeks.

I just can’t understand why they don’t tell us what the new fees are. I’m guessing $250 and like you said a sliding scale after 35’. Probably increase the per person.

While an entry fee increase will sting a little I paid way more in VAT last trip than the $300 entry. VAT adds up quick, especially buying fuel. I feel for the locals as they can’t escape it.
