Default All inclusive place in the keys???

I know this should go in a regional forum, but enough people
go to the keys from all over the US that I figured Iíd post here...

My wife and I are looking to do the keys on the cheap! We donít need 5-star amenities because the fun is outside anyway. We are having trouble finding places that donít have long minimum stays.

We are looking for somewhere with a small efficiency/hotel/motel with a ramp, trailer storage, and a pool. Preferably on the ocean side, or with quick access to the ocean. Our boat is a 31 pursuit.

Any recommendations?

Sell the 31' and buy a 17' Whaler, just in fuel savings alone you should have plenty of $$$ to stay where you want.

Check out the key largo bay marriott beach resort. Got a last minute deal a few weeks ago and towed the boat down. Ramp is limited to 20' or under on property. Or caribbean club a few blocks away launch your boat no problem. I was only getting 2 ft depth on the way in. Trim up and tie up. Enjoy the pool, rooms were clean, it was quiet so they upgraded us which was cool. Nice beach area. Tell ya it wasn't a bad spot. Nice view of the bay and sunset. Good dock. Think it was 160 all in per night (including dock/ramp/everything). Check it out if your draft allows.

captainwjm and Moondoggie like this.

Cheap and the Keys donít really go together...it will depend when u plan to go as well..go after school starts back up and you will find much better deals.
The Hyatt in Marathon has everything u r looking for except a ramp on site but there is a really good ramp just down the road...dockage at Faro Blanco marina in the back of the hotel...sometimes they run promos w/ the Hyatt for better dockage rates...they allow you to store your trailer on site as well.0

Just stayed there a few nights at the end of May, 250 a night +80 bucks a night at the marina. Great place, will stay there again and reasonably priced when you compare to alternatives.

venture out in cudjoe key...its a mobile home community with some decent CBS shacks and park model homes....most of them are not perfect, but generally the air and plumbing works and after a long day on the salt and a killer dinner in key west...well any bed seems great.....nice ramp, fairly priced rec 90 fuel, most of the places are on a canal and have enuff frontage for a 31' square grouper around the corner...key west 20 miles away...looe key for snorkeling....no name bar for pizza and see key deer....kemp channel to the back country when u are blowed out on the reef....slam dunk

I have found it as low as $150 on Orbitz..plus Orbitz coupons work at the hotel when booking as well.
Also, they run Florida resident specials w/ food allowances at the restauranrt out back from time to time.
Just donít look down in the marina rocks...the hundreds of legal lobsters everywhere will have u going crazy.

Make sure you ask about resort fees. We just got back from islamorada and we had to pay $35 per person per day for resort fees. That was for bikes, kayaks and wifi. We didnt use any of that stuff. It looked like every place we looked at had these extra fees.

The days of the great deals during the Great Recession are long gone.
In Marathon:
Capt Pips fits the bill but the 31’ boat might be too big.
Hyatt as mentioned is fantastic.
Also Marathon Marina has the nicest pool in Marathon, trailer storage and great rooms to rent.
Everything is going to be $250-$300/night with dockage, trailer storage etc.

this has been the source of my frustration...you see an ad for $250/night, then when you try to book it, it racks on another $150-200 in fees per night.

Capt'in Pip's might fit your boat. Outboards ? Channel coming in is deep ( 4 ' ) docks on outside are as deep. Nice clean rooms, apartments and pool on site. Porky's for happy hour ( cheap beer ) and apps 1/2 price. Burdines across the street, past Trailerama on 15 st

I stayed at Parmer's most recently two years ago for lobster season and there was a catamaran that looked to be about 33 feet that was moored on the channel side and other than a little tight maneuvering, ir looked look like they had plenty of water. Palmer's has some dockage on the canal across the street from the office that would easily handle a 31, but you will need to reserve two spaces. If you dock on the canal side (5 ft of water) you will have one turn in about 150 yards to open water. Palmer's is not fancy, but I've always found the rooms to be clean, staff to be helpful, they have on-site trailer parking, good restaurant down the street, good access to the reef and backcountry. On days when it was too windy to venture offshore, we caught all of the mangrove snapper we wanted at night chumming the pilings of the HWY1 bridge a half-mile from the property.
