Default July 4th-Harbor inn & Marina-Stuart

We are running the boat down from Port Canaveral to Stuart on the 4th and coming back the 7th.
Anybody stayed at Harbor Inn? It`s on the St. Lucie by the bridge.

We tried the usual places and all were booked for that weekend.

Seem like very friendly people running the place after speaking to them.

And where would you go on the water for fireworks on the 4th?

Thanks for any inf guys.
Z

I've never seen the rooms but it's a nice little spot with great sunset views. The Deck Restaurant next door is decent, the kitchen is always slow but the food is pretty good. You'll be about a 5 minute boat ride away from the fireworks display between the Roosevelt Bridge and downtown Stuart too.

If the price is right I'd say go for it.

Thanks Bay, we`ve booked our rooms and a slip. Is the Roosevelt bridge the one next to the hotel?

I made a little sketch to show where to go. You can't miss the huge mass of boats that start to gather around 6-7 pm. Word of advice, unless you're in a hurry it's worth it to hang out for a little while after the fireworks end to let most of the boats clear out.

Perfect! Thanks so much for that.
We`ll be in no rush and it`s nice that the marina is right around the corner.

This is the only place that had room for that weekend. We normally stay at Pirates Cove, but it`s nice to check out new places.

you don't even need to go past he bridge to watch the fireworks, you can see them well from the basin on the West side of the bridge...and a oid a ton of fools post show.

Skip the Deck for food, drinks only...for food, walk around the corner to the TalkHouse

Never seen the rooms, but I'll bet they are ok..not the ritz, but older and decent. Should be a nice run down..inside or outside? Either way, keep your eyes open from the "crossroads" past Manatee Pocket to hells Gate.

Do you uber? Tons of places south of the Roosevelt Bridge (US1)

Hey Bill,
If the seas are good, I would rather run the outside, but the inside run isn`t bad at all.
Are you referring to the boat traffic in the Pocket?
And yes, we take advantage of Uber.

The Deck Restaurant on the property is closed until further notice. Plenty of eateries with walking distance

Really? When we spoke to the owner the other day, she made no mention of that.

Traffic AND channel. Heading towards Stuart, The channel makes a big curve, and it is terminal shallow on the inside (east side) of the curve. Approaching the new Roosevelt bridge (the tall one) it is terminal shallow on the south side. Current can be bad under the railroad bridge.
