Default Mercury Dealer

Hey guys. Need to establish a relationship with a local Mercury dealer. We live in tarpon springs, the boat is on a lift and we do not have a trailer. The boat is back at East Cape and they are looking for a dealer to take care of me while they have the boat but I quickly realized I needed to find a local dealer. Who is the best around?

The four closest CSI award winning dealers to you are: Boat & Motor Superstores, Gregors Marine Inc., Pro Marine Performance, and First Choice Marine.

I use First Choice Marine but they are in St.Pete. Very trustworthy guys. Michael would be the guy to talk too.

I’m a little confused (happens often), you stated that the boat is on a lift and don’t have a trailer, but the boat is currently at East Cape and you need to find a dealer. Are you looking for a dealer or mobile Mercury mechanic? Finding a dealer that has mobile services is going to be a hard proposition.....trying to find a factory authorize mobile mechanic is going to be a challenge as well. I just went through it as well and couldn’t find a factory authorized mobile mechanic in the central Pinellas area.

The boat lives on a lift in Tarpon Springs. We do not have a trailer for the boat. We got an alarm the day before East Cape came to pick the boat up with their trailer to complete a punch list. The boat is currently with them on their trailer and they are going to try to get it to a dealer/mechanic to fix the “coil alarm” we got but I really need to find and develop a relationship with a local dealer/mechanic that can do service and warranty work on a mobile basis when needed or at least one that has a trailer where they will pickup and deliver.

I think the guys at Boat and Motor superstores can help with mobilization and they have helped me before with an issue and the came to where the boat was located...they have a mobile mechanic.

Got it....if you find a dealer/mechanic that does mobile work, please let me know. I was having a problem with my engine that would only manifest itself while running under load at higher rpm's and did not show any codes and couldn't get it to replicate the problem without being in the water. Fortunately, I live near Gregor's Marine and Lou said he is not mobile, but when I described the problem to him, he said he would schedule a time to come to my house and do a water test, but the boat would have to go to the shop for work to be done. Took 3-4 weeks before he could even schedule a time to come do the water test. I'd definitely be interested in a mechanic that would work o it while on the lift or even on the trailer in my drive way.

I am just south of you....I have used First Choice for many years on my Verados....I happen to think they are the best in the area.
That being said, I think BMS is your only option that does mobile and is close to Tarpon.
