Looking for the same info. I saw Two Conchs out of isla morada is starting to find them in bunches down there. Hopefully they start to make their way north to south MIAMI/ north keys this week with the steady SE winds.

Fishing Saturday!!!

Well this coming week may let us know if the season is going to a total bust or not. Calm seas so the fishing army will be out there, Gulf stream is right on top of the reef in marathon or so windfinder says. So I will along with 1000 other strangers be out there trying to find some. Previous attempts this year were bad or slow. But I often do not run out to 1200' in chasing the fish I used to be able to catch in 300-500' of water

Fished out of Boca inlet today. Minefield of scatter weeds everywhere 600-750ft. 750 ft a nice weedline that had a clean edge for miles with birds on it. Trolled it for a while and only got one undersized dolphin. Ran out to 1500ft and very clean no weeds and no fish. Dolphin still havent pushed through yet.

Windfinder.com? I've never seen anything but wind on there.

10 today heavy lifters and a 12 pounder. Nice weed line in 600 off Islamorada. No birds, just in the weed. Left that line to get a couple tile fish and no other life out there

Fished all the way to the Wall out of Big Pine Key. A lot of scattered weeds and bigger mats mixed in from 500 to 700 caught an even mix of lifters and little stick gaffers. . I'll bet tomorrow will be better if the weed forms up !!

Off marathon triolled 250’ to 650’ and back. spent most of the time clearing weeds. Not 1 mahi. caught and released 2 bonita. They were near reef.

Lots of scattered weeds with a feq broken lines and mats. all I talked to said slow or none at all.

Glad to hear there were a few catches, but by far most ppl were not that lucky.

Key Largo scattered weed in shallow like 300 feet, then clear until 700 feet. We caught a few 6 - 8 pound fish at 700 feet.

Went out yesterday from Homestead, ran out 50+miles run and gun. Found 1 somewhat formed weedline at about 7-8 miles along with every other boat that was out. After that there wasn't a consistent line or even a good area of scattered grass that we found for 30+miles. Only things we found floating were a small group of balloons and the plastic wrapper of a jumbo case of water bottles but not fish. Ran back in and tried the line on the edge of the reef but only saw 1 small dolphin that was super spooky and appeared to have been caught earlier. All in all it was a nice day on the water but disappointing to only see 1 fish all day. No other bites or knockdowns.

The larger mahi seemed to come past Stuart and the Treasure Coast 2-3 weeks ago for a short period that was mostly windy weather. Trolling conditions were challenging (at best) with all the scattered sargassum weed everywhere. The boats that live baited with kites seems to catch the big slammers most consistently when they pushed through.

Now I've been getting solid reports the past 10 days or so from charter friends and my clients in the Keys that the gaffers and some slammers are definitely attainable. If you can sneak offshore during the week it will likely be a lot less stressful with less boat traffic.

We trolled for 5 hours on Sat East of Hillsboro to south 600-950ft. Zip. The weeds are hell. Lots of boats fishing the larger weed patches but I did not see any come tight.

Going again tomorrow.
