Coming back from the Bahamas yesterday there was a great weed line 20 miles off of Pacific Reef. Birds working and schoolies too small to mess with. Would have trolled it if I was not on my way home.

Slow in Miami yesterday. Trolled nice looking weeds with a few flyers in 400 to 800 from a little before nine to 11:30, not a bird in sight. Picked up a decent bull & cow in 800 ft. and felt fortunate to get something in the box. It seemed like a lot of trolling with no bites, I imagine that some boats were skunked. Not a bad day but slow. Reef fish were biting around noon on the way in - we didn't stay long enough to hook up. We were more interested in getting in before the storms hit.

we fished off boca and hillsboro yesterday, nice weed line at 350 feet for miles but just no life on it. went out to 600 and nothing but a bonita

came in 200 feet and got a real nice mutton and broke off on a few kings (i assume).

Fished yesterday morning from 730 to 1030, found weeds in 700 to 800 ft. And trolled north. Got 3 separate fish between boca and delray. No birds, no boards , just mixed in wirh the broken weeds. Hopefully it keeps picking up over the next couple weeks.

100 keepers thurs- Saturday out of Islamorada. 700-1000 was best. Left the weeds to all the traffic and found birds on turtles. Live bait was key. Couldn’t get a bite in a ballyhoo yesterday. Thursday got a bunch on the troll..
anughing that needed to be measured was released.. had a couple 18-20 pounds, lost a heart breaker slammer that showed up on a schoolmof gaffers. Lots of baby liters and gaffers. I think they are here... we struggled our first 4 days and it turned on starting Thursday big time

got this one this morning out of Jupiter along with a cow a bit smaller. 150ft. Trolling ballyhoo with chugger skirts. Believe it or not, I lost one that was bigger than this. Still a lot of fillets.

My son did two charters this weekend out of Key Biscayne. Yesterday's got a 25 pound mahi, along with a couple of gaffers and some keepers and shorts. Today's charter got nine nice mahi, including a couple of gaffers, a bunch of rosies, and two other fish I can't make out in his pics. You have to find the weedlines holding the mahi, obviously. He's been trolling skirted ballyhoo until he hooks up, then he keeps the hooked fish in the water while he tosses some livies on spinners to the rest of the school. The action finally got consistent a couple of days ago.

Have fun guys. I used to fish off Miami but I quit. I only fish when I go to the Bahamas now. Too much work and money for too little fish. I remember when catching bulls and cows was routine on almost every outing. Now a guy wins a tournament with a fish little bigger than legal size. I personally don't enjoy doing it here any more.

100 keepers,,, seriously! Please keep enough so everyone gets to take home fresh fish and then save a few so they can blow north with the stream. We need more fish in Dade & Broward!
Seriously, it sounds like a good day and I'm glad they are somewhere in descent numbers. Thanks for the report.

Went for a quick trip around noon today. Stopped on first big weed patch in 650 (I rarely stop before 900 feet) and my son and I were covered in schoolies. Most were 20 inches and under. Threw them all back except for 2 that were 26 and 28 inches. Also caught a black fin and a cuda. Go figure. Good luck out there.
