YOUR NOT WRONG

Get under the Howard Franklin bridge one night to hide from a typical thunderstorm. It's just one road after all!

The last time the run off of that bridge got on my boat it looked like someone went nuts with a can of dirty WD-40.
It's really sad.

Interesting conversation about Upper Tampa Bay. In the 50's I used to hear fishermen complaining that part of the bay was destroyed when the Davis Causeway (Courtney Campbell) was opened in 1934, restricting the natural tidal water flow..

West of the Skyway is the only place I would want to be swimming. After living here my entire life getting in the water in the upper bay is not appealing at all. Plenty of enough no swim/high bacteria warnings to convince me.

What you gonna do without the Avenger Dan?
Shes been sold.
i was washing it more than I was using it.
i really only tarpon fished out of that boat and I can do that (not as easily) out of the contender.
Im currently working too much, trying to put enough away to retire someday while we are young enough to enjoy it like someone else I know......

You betcha. That's why they added the bridge to the East side of the causeway and they are considering another on the W side. We need maximum flow. Whether or not it will be able to overcome all the construction in the area/ the run off from Lake Tarpon is another question.

I'm exclusively a fly guy myself. I do most of my wading in the winter during colder temps and drier months when water quality is better. That's why I sold my flats boat for a little tiller / tunnel boat that can scoot around on winter lows.

The new water flow from the recent construction is already showing results IMHO. The water has been cleaner for longer than in previous summers. A good tidal flush helps.
