The zoo is why I ended up at Passage.

This is why we can't have nice things and I can't really blame them. Fact of the matter is we're building on every other possible piece of property and natural habitat is getting smaller and smaller. Too many dog owners letting their dogs chase the birds and then everyone else seems fine with leaving trash behind.

I bet if people picked up after themselves and controlled their dogs we could all get along just fine. Boaters should be partnering with the environmentalists, not battling with them.

I agree about the trash and dog thing. We pick up a lot of trash every time we go there. The dogs are a major problem and one day there will end up being a big dog fight.

Bingo. We need to start self regulating before this turns into a beach nightclub with trash everywhere, sea doos buzzing the shoreline and 6 different types of music coming from 3 different boats.

“Everyone seems fine leaving trash behind”. I’m there every weekend and don’t see everyone “ok” leaving trash. The VAST majority of the people there take their trash and enjoy the island in a respectful manner.

Statements like yours feed a narrative that is not entirely true and lead us down an ugly path....

Fine, it's not everyone. But it's enough that it's giving the rest of us a bad rap and now the county is taking notice.

the county is taking notice due to the birds, turtles, and people swimming and wading across there.

Most of the trash I find out there is wrecked boats, tires, and stuff washing up. Other than that it is dog shit.

Agreed. Dog owners that don't pick after their dogs are going to mess it up for those that do.

I've seen my fair share of trash but I think we're saying the same thing. If people pick up after themselves, their dogs and don't let their dogs chase the birds...we can all enjoy the sandbar together in peace and harmony.
