Assuming that you are flying in, have a hotel close to the port and won't rent a car, 15th St Fisheries is a short cab ride and offers a very casual downstairs restaurant with no a.c. but great view, sounds and smells of the ICW just north of the 17th St Causeway and Port Everglades. Upstairs restaurant is more upscale but fully enclosed.
Decent food at either but the real attraction is the busy waterway and the schools of big jacks and tarpon that live under the floating docks.

X2
Southport is decent and 15th street fisheries is good not what it used to be. If not from the area it is nice and you can feed the Tarpon.

We are staying at the Renaissance on 16th so I was looking at 15th Street as making the most sense.
Wifey doesn't travel(fly) well due to health reasons so we'll be close for a bite to eat with her Uncle and back to the Hotel if needed.

I looked at all mentioned, Some nice places on the waterway ! Thank you All!

You don't need to stray from the restaurants off 17th Street Causeway which is near Renaissance. Best food/view combo is 15th Street Fisheries. Across the ICW, you have Pelican's Landing which also has a good view as long as there is not a 300' yacht sitting in front of it. Boatyard and Southport are also good options, and both are on the water, but on a side canal so no real view other than some boats that may be tied up there.

Here is a view out of 15th Street Fisheries. https://www.lauderdalemarina.com/dock-cam Pelican's Landing is right behind the 280' Seven Seas across the ICW.

15th street is great for casual. Kaluz is higher end but great location and food.
