Default Insuring triple engines in So Fla

I have seen several threads here before about how insuring a boat with trips was multiple times more expensive premium than say twins, but I see more boats with trips & quads in So Fla it seems than anything else, so Im sure they are being insured. I am looking used, as the era of trips has now run long enough that there are good quality used boats with trips having some reasonably expected remaining life, so am looking at what I can expect with trips shall I move up.

Call your insurance company, you'd be amazed at how variable the insurance market is. You might pay 10 times what I pay or vice versa.

Thats what I am hoping to lean on THT for, as in So Fla, the theft & hurricane coverage can be really high (but also needed & warranted additional premium). I just want to target the right insurers based on THT’ers experience with similar boats.

The thing is you can't compare what others pay. Way too many variables.

Agreed, not looking for premium or coverage comparison necessarily, but rather what insurers (not agencies) are underwriting at a moderate premium these types of vessels in my area (besides Charter Lakes and their lines...will def give them a try).

Call Chris at C&L he will get you setup with best price and coverage. I doubt that they would be able to tell you much though until you have a boat and the details. To many variables between years makes and engines. you Will have no problem insuring trips though.
