Default 384,000+ Fishing Spots

With 384,000+ fishing coordinates worldwide, Fishing Status is the worldís largest database. Chances are we have the best fishing spots for your target location(s) and we have categorized the following:
World Fishing Map
http://fishingstatus.com/home/map

Fishing Status makes it easy to import these fishing spots right into your GPS unit, with icons showing Fish, Ramps, Reefs, Rocks, and Shipwrecks. Why waste valuable time typing in coordinates from some old book, or list of reefs you found, when you can have them all imported into your unit in seconds? We support Furuno, Garmin, Humminbird, Lowrance, Raymarine, Simrad, and many other GPS manufacturers. If you have a GPS unit made in the last 10 years that uses a microSD, SD, or USB card, we have what you need.

GPS Manufacturers

Source and Accuracy of Spots

The data for these fishing spots come from thousands of different sources, including Federal/State/Regional databases of artificial reefs/geological features/shipwrecks, thousands submitted by our users, acquired databases, generous donors, retired captains, etc. We have performed merges for many people who are upgrading to new units as well, combining their fishing spots with ours. Not only are there thousands of public spots, but you will also find many liberated private fishing spots, commercial bottom fishing spots, and many unique spots you will never find on any other vendors product out there.

We are constantly adding and updating new spots. Sure, with any large database, there are bound to be a few that are off, or have disappeared (rotted, covered with sand, or moved by storms) over time, but you will find 99.9% are going to be spot on. In the last 2 years, we have added over 60,000 new spots and have updated over 80,000 spots with additional information (species, types of structure, descriptions, depth, etc.).

-----------------------------------------------------------

We offer 2 main options for these spots.

1. Custom SD Card
We will create a custom SD card to your specifications and specifically for your GPS unit(s). We will tailor a card, not only to the limitations of your GPS unit, but also between inshore/offshore, distances, types of structure, and more. For example, you could say, ďI only fish offshore, only want shipwrecks, and reefs, up to 75 miles from port/inlet X and between town A to the North and inlet B to the South,Ē and we can build a card for you that covers the exact area, types of structure, and the distances you are wanting to fish.

Here is an example of the order form with some of the options:

We have so many spots in many areas, we have to cull a lot of spots to make them fit onto your GPS unit. We take the time to make sure all of our cards will work within the parameters of your GPS unit, while covering up to a 150 mile radius (300 miles of coast line). We also make cards for tournament trails for many professional and semi-pro anglers around the world.

We include 1 microSD card with all of the files on it, 1 SD card adapter (you insert the microSD into the SD card adapter), and now are offering USB-to-microSD reader so you can see files on your PC, as well as download the updates easily to the card.

microSD, SD Card Adapater, and USB-to-microSD Reader

Included with the product is a full year of Fishing Status Professional. This will allow you to download updates, and create your own custom files. We have a custom page that allows you to download all fishing spots that are new or updated since the date we made your SD card: https://fishingstatus.com/places/maps/updates

This option costs $75.74 ($100.99 normally) using the THT coupon code, including the USB-to-microSD reader, with free shipping to all of the US.

You can purchase here: https://fishingstatus.com/subscribe/p/custom-sd-card

If you have any specific requirements, please add them to the ďOther RequirementsĒ field.

2. DIY (Do It Yourself)

With a subscription, you can download 100 mile radius saltwater maps, 30 mile freshwater maps, and make your own custom SD card yourself.

The 100 mile downloads are updated on schedule and occur approximately every 2 weeks. They can be found here: https://fishingstatus.com/places/maps

All custom downloads are generated in real time. We have videos of how the custom download work here: Create a Custom Map of Fishing Spots

We provide videos and instructions for most manufactures and their software here: Instructions for Importing Fishing Spots Map into GPS Units

Subscriptions start at $7 a month or $49 per year and can be canceled right from the website at any time. You can purchase from here: https://fishingstatus.com/subscribe

-----------------------------------------------------------

People who do not have the time and/or donít want to learn how to download and make a card themselves usually pick option #1. The folks who are a little more tech savvy pick option #2.

With over 384,000 fishing spots in our database, you will not find anyone that has as many spots, the ability to customize, frequency of updates, nor for the low price for what we offer.

Here are some recent examples of custom SD Cards:

The Keys Example

Alabama Lakes

Northern Florida

Long Island

Chesapeake

I've made thousands of cards and have never had any ask for their money back because they were unhappy with the spots. If you purchase and are truly unhappy, I'll gladly refund the money.

Well I guess thatís the end of the party boat / charter boat business with guys selling numbers in volume like this online. Sad to see. A guy trying to put food on his table with paying fares wonít be able to get on his spots do to privateboaters being on spots or close enough to them not having a clue about anything other than being on a set of numbers

With over 9,000 spots in a 100 mile radius of your area, most GPS units won't even hold that many spots, much less would anyone be able to fish them all. The likelihood that someone is going to be on "your spot" will be low with that many spots in the arsenal. I've heard this tired old argument for years, and the fact is that many charter/head boat captains have bought my spots. I'm not selling a few hundred spots, but thousands at a time. I've also received tens of thousands of spots from charter boat captains and commercial fisherman because they know I not only have more spots, but in many cases better spots than what they even have. Also, with radar, sonar, and AIS type technologies, no fishing spot is safe, nor does anyone own a spot in the ocean. I'd appreciate it if you went somewhere else to cry on a thread.

Not crying. Just stating a simple fact that guys selling numbers like this will have every clueless Tom Dick and Harry out there on good bottom who have put zero time / long hours, fuel burn to find spots the way that many could respect by searching long and hard.

I saw what you removed from this post and was laughing about how many you have "forgotten" when you are going to compare to 384,000+ spots.. You are right, there will be thousands of hours and gallons of fuel saved by purchasing my spots. If you are not interested in my offering, please move along.

You act as if I haven't been fishing for 40+ years recreational AND commercial and have around 200,000 spots on the east coast and GOM alone.. Get over yourself and go away. Your trolling is boring.

Iíd love to see what bubble gum machine you got your license out of. Lol. Had no intention of getting into it with you but evidentially commercial / recreational fishing hasnít been profitable to you in the past so you have to firesale numbers. Good luck you obviously need it!

Boss I have no dog in this fight but guys have been selling numbers for so long now. There's another guy on here selling stuff along the east coast and Probably others too. If you really don't like it then move along the guy is not breaking a law.

Exactly! I will have been doing this for 8 years in March. Nothing new... except some new/good fishing spots and a lot easier getting them into a GPS unit than manually punching them in like the old days. But it never fails that someone will complain.

Probably just a matter of time before Garmin or someone else starts to offer all these spots as a monthly service with their devices...

Perhaps we should start dropping our own reef balls in deserted areas where no one will go looking...

Garmin bought ActiveCaptain and Navionics. It is only a matter of time as you are saying. I'm just waiting on their call.

Been working on some ideas for doing this myself. Can never have too many spots!

Me too. I wonder what the legalities are around that. Like who differentiates between "dumping junk in the ocean" and "planting a reef"...

xfernal, do you have a rough estimate for how many waypoints would be on a card for 100mi radius of Morehead city and about 50mi radius around Westend Bahamas area? no fresh water points . just wondering if I could pack all the spots from two cards on to my 7212's
