Need a few casting windows w 80lb flouro (preferably MoiMoi) 10’ Long with small loop at end and approx no more than a 12” serve.
Possible on your end? Obviously these are for spinning reels. Thanks

You normally don’t associate Blue Action wind ons with lighter tackle but the 60lb wind ons paired with 40lb braid on 5000 series spinners have worked magic getting snapper and other species off of shallower Gulf wrecks. The Diamond mono proved super abrasion resistant and helped my friend Alyssa bag her personal best AJ of 46#. 40 solid minutes of fight in and out of the wreck before she put him on the boat. Awesome young angler + awesome tackle = Awesome fish!

Default Awesome

Wanted to throw up a quick post in regards to Doug’s windons. In the past I have been using another high end MFGR for my windons which range from 60 lb for tuna to 400lb for sharking. Texas Blue Is on par w quality regarding materials, but in my eyes , I felt that craftsmanship to me is a step up. Whips are Tight and smooth. Doug was happy to accomodate a specific size loop and length of flouro that I requested outside the norm.
So far I am very impressed not to mention prices are waaaay better.
Best part he is a regular fisherman like us, actually probably a little more hardcore than most. But we wound up shooting the chit on the phone for a good half hour about fish, location, different technics.
So Im not here as a sales pitch or how to tell you to spend your money, but Just a happy first time customer.
All I can say is if you purchase your owns leaders like I do,
your doing an injustice to yourself not giving Doug a quick call.
Great guy w a killer product.

Many thanks to all for the support. Happily busy helping folks gear up.

Of note, I'm also doing many custom "casting" wind-ons" for folks jigging or casting vs the standard lengths. Small loop, short serve and 10-12 feet of line. Now listed on
WEBSITE too!

I've had the same experience with Doug. He messaged me on a thread I did where I was testing the breaking strength of different braid/knots. He said he appreciated me taking the time to write a detailed post even though some other folks on here make you wonder why you even spend the time to write anything, lol. Didn't know who he was at the time.

After showing interest in trying out hollow core in a particular thread he shot me a message and told me to call him up. He made the point that he's not just trying to sell me something, he just really likes sharing info and helping people out. Well after several conversations on the phone he got me squared away on hollow core. Just getting my feet wet but I love this stuff and I really appreciate all the guidance I've received along the way. Great guy

Many thanks for the kind words. Not the sharpest tool in the shed but always willing to share anything I know, especially here on THT.

I keep adding a variety of line as folks request different options. Most is on website. Please let me know if there is a combo of lb test/color that you don't see but are interested in.

Hi Doug, can you do wind-ons with 200lb Diamond Mono (preferably in super clear if available) ?

BTW, can't say enough about the quality of your 130lb wind-ons. They have inspired me to start tinkering with hollow core splicing. Going to need a DaHo needle as well.

Have done many heavier customs of late for Marlin. Custom requests are welcome!
