If I get an 840xs to add to an existing 1040xs is there a splitter I can use so both get the transducer signal or is there a better way to interface them? Do you have that part number and how much? Thanks.

Very simple..

You connect the 840xs to the 1040xs with a network (ethernet) cable.
Then you share all images and data on both screens.
6' network cable..$22.

I don't have quite enough room for an 840 XS. I do have room for something just a tad smaller. Can I interface a 93sv or 94sv in the same way? Prices?

The current echomap 93sv/94sv cannot be networked...

But the new echoMAP Plus 93 sv and 94sv can be...as there will be a software upgrade to those units in the first quarter by Garmin.,

I would like to upgrade from my 720S to an 840. I might not have the real estate to do it right now.

Your 720 is 8.8 x 5.6"..overall
The 840xs is 11.5 x 7.4"...over all

looks like you have the width...and even possible the height.

Gil,

Will the 840 work with my Airmar B75M transducer?

8 pin only on the 840 ... is B75 either/or 8 or 12 pin?

Thanks Gil. The 942xs may be a better fit. I may wait for the price to come down a bit since it is a fairly new model.

Makes sense.
Figure about 2 years is the average on price drops for Simrad,Garmin, Furuno MRP units.
But since the boat show season is on the way.....they all may have nice rebates coming.
Especially to spur new model sales.

I asked semperfifishing a few questions about an 840XS on Wednesday, order one from him at noon on the same day and it was on my porch on Thursday afternoon. If I wouldn't know better I'd think he delivered it himself to get it here so fast. LOL. Great service.

Yes, it will work.
If you have an 8 pin..plug and play.
If you have a 6 pin, you need an adapter.
