My granddaughter got a pair of Pinnacle kids rods for Christmas and a pair of TLD 25's for her birthday. I'd say she's ready to try em out.

i think a talica 50 is perfect for these rods. I use them with smaller Avets but with 40lbs max drag. They rock

Is the XR jr or Alps ok for a Avet 50w used for HST or should. Use a #4 butt?

The #2 butt on the XR series rods is designed for a 50 class reel foot - So to answer your question - The Stock version of this rod is fine for your application.
Here is a breakdown of how the Rod Butts are rated
#1- 30 class
#2 - 50 class
#4 - 80 class
#6 130 class

Pac bay also has a new #5 - 80-100 class
and a #7 130- unlimited class.

One exception to the rule for Butts vs reels
The Avet TR-X 50 produces 100 lb of drag at strike, and goes up to 115 ish. Although this is a "50" class reel, it has the potential of a 130+. In that case, if you are planning on using more than 55 lbs of drag, you will need to butt your rod accordingly.
Hope this helps.

Default Pricing on rod

What would pricing be on a rod I'm pairing with an okuma makaira 50w, will be an all around setup with Winthrop guides and winthop adjustable butt. Plan to use for wahoo, tuna, etc. Maybe a 50-100lb rod. With silver/purple wrap on rod.

I have 4 165XR 3080 I would like to know what the best type of fishing these rods are for Tuna-Shark-White or Blue Marlin etc. and what would be a better reel match Talica 25 or Talica 50?
