For those who are not a big fan of the Roller guides and would prefer a rod that is suited for live baiting, bottom fishing/ jigging / and trolling - this rods for you.
The Fuji SiC guide selected for the rod qualifies as a heavy duty boat guide with a stainless frame and deep press SiC insert. We decided to go with the best on this, and when it comes to durability - FUJI is tough to beat. The rod has a lighter tip action to see a bottom bite, yet has the backbone to handle the big boys when that time arises.

After years of buying Shimano and Penn rods and the latest purchase being a pair of Penn's Blue Water Carnage 50-100 mono with Carbon wraps I'm ready for my first Pinnacle set and with this model it was love at first sight. Is it possible to have 4 of these rods made in a 60-100 class in Black and Silver with 2 long straight butts and 2 short curved and a matching gaff?

The butts are due in early next week. I have not yet put one of their #2 butts on a Pac Bay #2 ferrule. I will let you know. If anyone has a rod with a Pac Bay ferrule or any other for that matter, shoot me a pm in about a week and I will test the butt on all that I have - Pac Bay, ALPS, American Tackle, Stuart, and AFTCO to see if they are compatible.
If the butt wont work with your rig, and you want it to - you can ship the rod to me if you don't want to do it yourself and I will swap the ferrule for you - free - with the purchase of the butt - just pay return shipping.

If anyone is needing a kite rod - I have some Winthrop kite tips on the way also.

what weight jigs work well on the 400g spinning jigging rods? I'll need 2 very shortly and use anywhere from 140-300g jigs.

also do you have the XR Fuji with ALPS RX-M Roller top in stock? which colors and class?

thanks!

John - What is the main difference between your XR PRO rods say a 30-80 or even 60-100 and the TSX PRO 50? They both look like they have the same ALPS guides. Is it the rod blank? Length looks same, guides look same, butts same, guessing it is the blank. Have some 50 vsws, 70 vs and 80 vsws looking to outfit here shortly. The TSX Pro Series seems like a few more bucks but will be running braid and higher drags on the above reels 32-40# routinely.

(XR-RODS) - The Stand-up rods are 20-50, 30-80, and 60-100 "class" These rods are all 50 class, but the fall into 3 different ranges depending on the action. Light , Medium, and heavy respectively. The ALPS RX- M (medium) on the Xr series is a wind-on roller that is "medium sized". The medium size has a smaller foot that fits great on a fast-taper blank. This Guide is 50-80 class rated.

Now the TSX 50 in the standard or Pro series - this rod is tapered, but it is not fast tapered giving it a range of class action - (ie 50-100, 20-50 etc). This is a parabolic curve 50 class and is considered heavy "50 class" action. The guides on this rod are the ALPS RX-H, or the Pac Bay Eliminator. Both guides are Over-Size, 130 class, and have a very large foot. This guide works very well on the wider parabolic blank. The 130 class guide on a 50 class rod means you will never have excessive load issues. These guides, like the RX-M are recessed - braid friendly -

Comparison. The TSX 50 and the XR 60-100 are very close in flex when maxed out at 52# of drag.
Maxed out means - the line from a typical 50 class reel is touching the fore-grip when the load is perpendicular to the reel-seat.

I hope that was not too long winded

Thanks for the question and feel free to call if you need further clarification.

Looking for some advice on what rod to purchase. I am looking for a good all around rod to mounting ShimanoTLD 50s on. It will be used form trolling off the Jersey coast for Tuna, dolphin and whaoo as well as sharking. Looking for straight but and thinking 60-100 class. I am fishing on a 26' center console so i will not be living in the canyons and don't want to break the bank.

Thanks,
Josh

John - Your TSX Pro 30 rod what kind of drag can it handle before the line touches the fore grip. Planning on putting a Penn 30 VSW with upgraded drag that will be running 130# braid.

Default TSX 30 vs TSX 50

The TSX 30 with a standard 30 size reel will go to about 42 lbs before the line will touch the fore grip with the load directly perpendicular. I have added some test pics of the TSX 50 as a reference.
