Default Perko latch

This Perko latch came off my new boat. It hasn't been used, but it sat on there for a few months.

Price is $10 shipped.

Could that be used on an anchor well door? Looks like the depth is adjustable? How long is the arm about?

Do you know what the width across on the top of that is? I had to buy a new one for my boat a couple months back and I paid almost $40 new, so I wouldn't mind having a spare if that's the correct size (there were two sizes I had to choose from). I'll measure mine when I get home. My e-mail is kstenzel@earthlink.net.

The "face" of the latch is roughly a sqaure and is 2-7/8" across. From the top of the latch to the bottom of the bolt holding the arm is 3". The length of the arm is 1-3/4" and is not adjustable, but its position on the bolt can be adjusted. It's currently set to catch at 1-3/4" (surface to catch point), but it looks like it could go as shallow as 1/2". If you were to flip the arm, you could get a range of other depths (deeper).

This was used to hold my livewell lid shut, but I suspect it could be used for an anchor locker without any problems. It's not flimsy at all. I just want a stainless slam latch for my livewell, so I took it off.
