Default Wanted: Avet reel clamps with hook holders

Looking to purchase several (10-12) reel clamps for Avets (mostly SX/MX reels). Anodized or nylon ok, but want them to have hook holders. Any vendors carry these?

What I do is add a black zip tie with screw mount eyelet to the stock rod clamp- around one of the bolts. Pull it until tight and twist the tag end with a pair of pliers to break it off cleanly just inside the jaw.

Came up with this as a necessity, actually, when I had some reels on good jigging rods that weren't compatible with reel clamps- or where I didn't want the added size of a reel clamp in my palm when jigging...

I will see if I can find a pic, but it's just with these ordinary zip ties. Use black so they don't yellow on you.

I also add regular zip ties to the Avet rod clamps that do have the eyes in them, and I hook whatever in the zip tie rather than in the clamp's eye. That keeps you from having duration or other hooks riding on anodized aluminum, which will end up a mess when saltwater's been between them.

Marsh Tacky, thanks so much for the tip. I've actually used similar zip ties in the past, but wrapped them around the rod and was trying to avoid that. Putting them on the clamp bolt sounds like a great idea, so I will try it out. You're right about the hook contacting the aluminum and corrosion.
