Default Merc Prop........

I have a "new" (run less than 10 hours) Mercury Laser II Propeller, part #48-16990-20P, 4" diameter with the plastic insert hub that came from my 200 EFI that is gathering dust in the shop. I have no idea what it's worth Anyone interested?????

The prop is 4" in diameter at the hub, I am not certain of the pitch, I would think it to be a 20 based on the part number????????

Call your dealer with the part number because I don't think it's a 20. The reason for that is it came with then engine when new and I could easily over rev it unless I was careful. I ordered a 21 from Cabela's and couldn't get max rpm's so I went down to a Cabela's 20 and that's what I'm running now. So that's why I don't think it's a 20 degree.......... Call your dealer and make sure. What are you running, boat, engine, etc??????

21' Wellcraft CC, 200HP Yamaha HPDI, with a 14-1/2x17 Alum on it now, good rpms...I believe the Merc props can just have their hub sleeves changed out for Yamaha..

Looks like the diameter is too small for me (13-1/4"). From checking around the 'net some it appears this prop is more preleveant on the 100hp range motors...
Don't think it will work for me. Thanks anyways. I think you ought to get a couple hunderd for it...

Don't know about the 100 hp thing, it's just what came on the engine. The HUB diameter is what the 4" measurement is all about, the BLADE diameter is 13 1/2" and the hub insert can be changed to fit anything..........

I know what you were talking about with the 4", but by checking the part number out online, it shows it as a 13-1/4"x20"...smaller than what I am using now with good results. Perhaps with the increased pitch and decreased diameter it would balance out, but I was done with Physics about 8 years ago and don't want to ever think about that again!

flyau98, I just put a 200 HPDI on my 20ft CC, came used with a 13.25 X 19, RPMs max at 5000. What's your WOT RPMs?

I'm getting about 5500 loaded, often with the bimini up. If I'm in it by myself or trim the motor high, it will hit about 5700.
This is on a 21 Wellcraft CC, 40-60 gals of gas...not too much other stuff...and a couple of people. I haven't measured the diameter my self, but the "equp. check off list" from Wellcraft shows it with a 14.5x17....I know its a 17" pitch from a stamp on the prop.
Right now its running about 50mph at 5500RPM...

Gmack, it's stainless, 175 - 200 ?????? less than 10 hours, and I found out that the "plastic" insert is actually called the "Flo-Torque" system.... for what it's worth......

Bailey, part #48-16990-20P is listed as a 13.25 x 20 pitch and runs for around $400 new..

Good luck.
