Default Turn your Straight butt into a BENT BUTT! - Pinnacle Marine

Turn your #2 straight butt into a bent butt.

This is a Pinnacle Marine Exclusive – Pat Pend.

If you have a standard #2 butt - You can drill and pin this extension to give yourself an adaptable fishing platform that can be easily removed to suit your fishing needs for the day. This butt was originally made for our KIDZ rods, but as it turns out – this has been a great solution for adult sized rods that need the adaptability.

The bent butt extension is equipped with a locking gimbal pin for positive lock when your butt is engaged. Also comes with a pull pin to secure the extension to your existing butt. You will need to drill your butt for this to work.

The location of the pull pin will allow you to drill through the solid / strongest part of your gimbal. The taper on the extension fits the gimbal taper perfectly so it fits like a glove. Not OJ's

The configuration you see is what I currently use with my Tanacom Bull 1000’s for deep drop, jigging, and trolling the flat lines.

Dimensions:
The wall thickness for the extension is .13” – same as typical butt
Length – 15”
Length from bend to gimbal – 9.5 inches
Inside diameter 1.13 inches
Distance to locking gimbal pin - 1.7"
This extension was designed just as our short bent butt with a longer bend to gimbal dimension length so they will lock into the standard rod holder.

$35 each

Shipping: $5.50

The other great use for this butt is to make a mini outrigger - we will be doing those next

I can take paypal, Visa, MC, and Discover – No AMEX please –
THANKS THTers

I am certainly addicted to fishing but I just don't think I can bring myself to this level if this is what it takes to continue fishing.

Killing me John

Is a 30 or 15 degree holder the preferred angle for the extension?

The angle of the extension is the same as any standard curved butt - 30 degrees - so in a 30 degree rod holder with this butt - your rod will be aprox 30 degrees above parallel with the waterline.

Either the 30, or the 15 degree will work well with this butt.

As soon as I can get back down to the coast, I will get some video of this set-up in a zero degree rod holder, with a swivel insert tugging on a 80lb ish AJ
