Because this is a commercial sale not me sending beer money to my kid in college.

Both parties involved benefit from the protection of using invoices, particularly the buyer.


As a buyer you cannot dispute a transaction that was documented as a "gift"

So unless you are dealing with someone you really know and trust, you should never use gift! Huge red flag for fraud / scams!

If a seller asks you to send him payment as gift to "save" the fee, you will be up a creek when he ships you a box filled with rocks instead of a gold reel. No recourse

There is one guy in particular who really screwed me bad and I am debating on wether or not i should try to warn other people in our industry what doing business with him is like. similar to the ricky rowell thread here on THT, same dam thing

I am sure this has happened to a lot of us in one or another probably more than we care to admit.
