Rob,
Ill shoot you a text- I think your idea is a great concept but will be challenging to do it right and keep the cost practical. Attaching a hitch mount rod holder is pretty simple, having it hinge on the very end so you can open the deck lid of your suburban is the challenge. I have a suburban to work off of but getting the hinge points to work correctly and be strong enough has been the challenge.
Good advertising for me though when everyone in traffic sees it

Do those rod holder for the back rest have backing plates on the inside of the cooler? I am thinking about mounting some on my cooler for a back rest but was worried the screws might pull out.

Also, when mounted on a cooler like that are they pretty solid? These would be going on a 65qt yeti.

Looking for a more-better solution than what I have. It works but the umbrella has been tearing it up. Sent a pm.

Just received my 8 rod Transom mount last week and got it installed. Very happy with the quality craftsmanship and it looks and fits great.

Default Beware

Beware, customer service is horrible. I have been trying to get ahold of Dave for a month. Tried all ways, the hull truth, phone, texts, emails. Nothing.....It's simple, if busy communicate that to us customers. Not wasting anymore of my time on this guy. Anyone else seem to have this problem.

It has been pretty thoroughly documented on here and other places that he has a very busy full time job with the SC Highway Patrol.

The welding he does is top notch, the pricing aggressive and you may have to wait a little bit but he always seems to come through.
