Hardtop camber is 1.5". Will need one mounting foot forward.
If you can send me your email address, it would be easier for me to email a diagram and photo. My cell phone is primitive.

Trooper,

I have an insulated cockpit cooler that I want to mount some rodholders on. I was thinking 2 singles on each end on either side of the handle and I'd like to mount a 3 rod rack off the back with the holders at a 15 degree angle for a total of 7 on the box. I'd like to be able to troll a rod off the back holders so the mounting pads would have to have a lot of support.

Here's a pic of the box. The image is small but the dimensions are 24"W x 42"L x 30"H.

I have the actual box at my house and can take photos and provide exact dimensions. What info would you need from me to do this?

Thanks, Bill

Bill, I have some 4" pads that are blind fasten. On the inside of the cooler you would have a 3" washer and 1/4 bolt to hold them on. Super strong and with the use of 3m 5200 it would be completely sealed.
call or text anytime if you want to send some pictures

outrage38, I try to stick to small parts but can build a t top if I have the boat. Also, you can check with Mr. Martin with Martin Marine Design. I believe he does T-top fabrication full time and his workmanship appears to be first class. I forget his username but I know he is on THT and he's a fellow South Carolinian

Here's a couple of pics with critical dims -

The sides of the box have a 4" flat either side of the handle. I assume that's sufficient to mount a single holder?

On the back of the box the flats where the pads would mount are 2 7/8" wide. Distance from outside edge to outside edge is 24 3/4". How many pads would you use?

The height of the box to the lip is shown here - 26 3/4". The gunnels are 23 1/2" high including the transom and I was hoping to keep the bottom of the rodholders above that in case the box slid back.

I assume you'd use a piece of tubing for a crossbar and mount the rodholders to that. If you extend that about 3" on both ends and keep it 1 1/2" off the back of the box I could strap a gaff on each end.

I'll give you a call to discuss - Thanks!

Here's a picture of my new rod holder that Trooper built for me. I replaced the first one that he built me because I was trying to keep it closer to the tool box. I really like the way it turned out.
