Gil -

I am very familiar with the Raymarine c-series and the DSM300 sonar module.

How does the sonar capacity of the A57 compare to be above?

The big difference will be the output power.
The DSM having either 600 or 1Kw and the "A" series 500 watts..RMS and that will not be any concern unless fishing on a regular basis deeper than 600'

But the good thing is the actual detection circuits are almost identical...they both have the HD digital sonar circuit...if you like the DSM 300 you will also like this unit.

And if the transducer is ever upgraded the unit is further enhanced.

And reliable...I have sold a great many during the last two years and have had only positive comments from my users.

The best thing about the A series is it is user friendly...the sonar is almost fully automatic.

Also...

The A50 & A57 series is shipped with two transducer options.

When shipped with Inland Lakes and Rivers preloaded.. then the unit has the P48 transdcuer.

When shipped with the Coastal maps preloaded.. then the unit ships with the P58 transdcuer.

Just for my personal clarification. This unit has both GPS and sonar with all connections included, right? Full price and the Ray sends rebate? Also, Since I am inshore/nearshoe, the wider baem transducer is available?

Yes,this ships with both GPS/Sonar and everything you need. And if you get the inland lakes and rivers the wide beam comes standard. Then you can add coastal charts if you need them.
